Rameshchandra Kala has been elected president of the Akhil Bharatiya Porwal Mahasabha after defeating his closest rival Omprakash Chaudhary by 20 votes in the organisation’s triennial elections held at the Mahasabha’s head office in Shamgarh on Sunday.

Dineshchandra Chaudhary was elected general secretary, while Dinesh Kumar Gupta won the treasurer’s post. The election process began in the morning and continued until 6 pm, followed by counting. The results were declared at around 10 pm.

Kala Wins Close Contest

Kala secured 411 votes in the election for president, while Omprakash Chaudhary received 391 votes. Other candidates Rajesh Mujawadia, Harinarayan Farkya and Rajendra Kumar Ved received 135, 82 and 39 votes, respectively.

A total of 1,058 valid votes were counted for the president’s post, while 33 votes were declared invalid.

Dineshchandra Chaudhary Elected General Secretary

Dineshchandra Chaudhary won the general secretary’s election with 525 votes. He defeated Shantilal Gupta, who received 282 votes, and Vijay Chaudhary, who secured 245 votes.

The election for the post recorded 1,052 valid votes, while 39 votes were rejected.

Dinesh Gupta Wins Treasurer’s Post

For the treasurer’s position, Dinesh Kumar Gupta emerged victorious with 483 votes. Vinod Kumar Kala received 301 votes, while Govind Khadiya secured 261 votes.

There were 1,045 valid votes for the post, with 46 votes declared invalid.

Results Declared After Counting

The election was conducted peacefully, with members of the Porwal community participating in the voting process. After the results were announced, election officials handed over victory certificates to the newly elected office-bearers.

Community members welcomed the winning candidates and congratulated them on their victory. Senior members and younger representatives expressed hope that the new executive committee would work towards strengthening organisation within the Porwal community and advancing its social initiatives.
