Pokémon fans around the world are set for a major weekend as PokémonXP and the 2026 Pokémon World Championships take place from August 28 to 30, 2026, with live coverage available online from the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California.

The Pokémon Company has announced a packed livestream schedule covering PokémonXP as well as the competitive World Championships. Fans watching from home will be able to follow the events through official Twitch and YouTube channels and the Pokémon broadcast hubs. The PokémonXP streams will begin at 9:00 a.m. PDT on Friday and 9:30 a.m. PDT on Saturday and Sunday, while the World Championships streams begin at 9:00 a.m. PDT each day.

PokémonXP Opens on August 28

PokémonXP will feature panels, performances, fan interactions and behind-the-scenes content. The first day begins with an opening ceremony at 9:00 a.m. PDT on August 28.

The Day 1 schedule includes a behind-the-scenes session with Aardman on Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d and Pichu, a spotlight on Pokémon Pokopia, a session on the making of Pokémon TCG full-art card illustrations and a conversation with Mr. Ishihara.

The day will conclude with a session focused on Pokémon TCG Pocket, covering cards, creators and future developments.

More PokémonXP Events on Day 2

The second day, August 29, will feature a programme celebrating 10 years of Pokémon GO, followed by the Pokémon Battle Bracket Bonanza.

Other scheduled sessions include LEGO Pokémon: You’re the Trainer Now and the Pokémon × JIMMYPAUL by Difuzed fashion show.

On August 30, the final day of PokémonXP will include sessions on visualising Pokémon beyond the games, a gaming gauntlet, a cosplay showcase and the live Gotta Catch ’Em All! game show. A closing ceremony is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. PDT, although the timing may change depending on the Championship Sunday tournament schedule.

World Championships Begin August 28

The 2026 Pokémon World Championships will bring together top players competing in Pokémon VGC, Pokémon TCG, Pokémon GO and Pokémon UNITE.

The opening ceremony is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. PDT on August 28, followed by Swiss rounds across the four competitive formats. VGC and Pokémon GO broadcasts are scheduled to run until 7:00 p.m. PDT, while TCG and UNITE coverage is scheduled until 7:30 p.m. PDT.

The competition continues on August 29 with the top-cut and semifinal rounds. Broadcasts across VGC, TCG, GO and UNITE will begin at 9:00 a.m. PDT.

Championship Sunday on August 30

The final day will determine the World Champions across the different Pokémon competitive formats. Pokémon UNITEis scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. PDT, followed by Pokémon GO at 10:30 a.m., Pokémon TCG at 12:30 p.m. and VGC at 4:00 p.m.

A closing ceremony is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. PDT. The organisers have indicated that the schedule could change depending on the tournament proceedings.

Fans can follow PokémonXP through the official PokémonXP Twitch channel, the Play Pokémon and Pokémon YouTube channels, and the PokémonXP Broadcast Hub.

The World Championships will also be streamed across dedicated Twitch channels for VGC, TCG, Pokémon GO and Pokémon UNITE, alongside the official Pokémon YouTube channels and the Worlds Broadcast Hub.
