The BJP Madhya Pradesh unit will hold its two-day state working committee meeting in Orchha on August 30 and 31, marking the return of the organisational meeting to the historic town after 14 years. Around 350 representatives are expected to attend the meeting.

BJP Madhya Pradesh president Hemant Khandelwal and state general secretary Gaurav Randive visited Orchha on Saturday to review preparations for the meeting. They held discussions with local office-bearers and party workers and inspected arrangements being made for the visiting delegates.

Khandelwal said the meeting would be attended by 106 members of the state working committee, divisional in-charges, district presidents, district in-charges and other office-bearers. He said the event would be significant for the organisation as such a large state-level meeting is being held in Orchha.

Party Leaders Review Arrangements

During his interaction with workers, Khandelwal emphasised that party members should continue to work with the mindset of a worker irrespective of whether they hold an organisational position.

He said workers should maintain the same commitment before receiving a post, while holding responsibility and even after leaving the position. According to him, effectively carrying out organisational responsibilities helps establish a worker's identity within the party.

Khandelwal also asked local workers to ensure proper arrangements and hospitality for the representatives arriving for the meeting. He urged them to make the Orchha meeting memorable for visiting delegates.

Focus on Organisational Meetings

The BJP state president said state working committee meetings should ideally be held every two to three months. He stressed that regular organisational meetings are important for strengthening coordination and keeping the party organisation active.

During the programme, BJP district president Rajesh Pateria welcomed Khandelwal by presenting him with an angavastram.

The two-day meeting on August 30 and 31 is expected to bring senior party office-bearers and representatives together for organisational discussions in Orchha.

Heavy Vehicles Barred on Orchha Route

Special traffic arrangements have also been put in place in view of the movement of VIPs during the meeting. Traffic police have announced route diversions and designated parking areas for August 30 and 31.

Heavy vehicles will not be allowed to use the Orchha route during the two days. Vehicles travelling from Jhansi through Orchha towards Prithvipur and Tikamgarh will not be permitted to enter Orchha town and will have to use the Niwari route.

Similarly, vehicles travelling from Tikamgarh and Prithvipur towards Jhansi via Orchha will also be diverted through Niwari.

Parking Arrangements for Visitors

Special parking arrangements have been made for devotees and tourists visiting Orchha. Vehicles arriving from the Jhansi, Niwari and Orchha Tiraha sides can be parked at Thana Parking and Hotel Rajmandir Parking.

Vehicles coming from Tikamgarh and Prithvipur will be directed to Century Parking. Vehicles arriving from Lalitpur, Babina and Chakarpur will use the Laxmi Temple Parking facility.

The arrangements have been made to reduce congestion around the town during the BJP meeting and VIP movement.

Alternative Routes During VIP Movement

Traffic police said temporary changes may be made depending on the movement of VIP convoys. During such movements, devotees and tourists travelling towards the Shri Ram Raja Temple can use the Azadpura and Ramnagar routes.

Authorities have appealed to residents, devotees and tourists to follow the designated routes and parking arrangements. People have also been advised to leave with additional travel time and cooperate with traffic personnel during VIP movement.

The BJP's state working committee meeting will take place amid these security and traffic arrangements, with party workers in Orchha preparing to host representatives from across Madhya Pradesh.
