Meritorious students in Madhya Pradesh are set to receive financial assistance for purchasing laptops. Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav will transfer ₹25,000 each to around 1.22 lakh eligible Class 12 students through a single-click transfer on September 1, 2026.

The state government will distribute approximately ₹304.98 crore under the laptop incentive scheme. The state-level programme will be held in Bhopal.

CM Mohan Yadav to Transfer Money

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will transfer the assistance directly into the bank accounts of eligible students during a state-level programme at the Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Centre in Bhopal.

The initiative is aimed at supporting meritorious students and improving their access to digital learning resources as they move towards higher education.

The assistance is being provided under Madhya Pradesh's Pratibhashali Vidyarthi Protsahan Yojana, which provides financial support to eligible meritorious students for purchasing laptops or computers.

75% Marks Required

According to the government's scheme details, students who secure 75% or more marks in the Class 12 examination in their first attempt are eligible for the laptop incentive, subject to the applicable conditions.

Students should note that merely passing Class 12 does not make them eligible for the benefit. The assistance is provided to students who meet the prescribed academic and other eligibility criteria.

₹25,000 Direct Bank Transfer

Under the scheme, eligible students receive ₹25,000 directly in their bank accounts to purchase a laptop or computer.

The beneficiary list is prepared using information from the Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education. Students therefore need to ensure that their academic and bank details are correctly recorded in the relevant government databases.

The government has designed the process to make the transfer directly to beneficiaries without requiring students to purchase a laptop through a government-selected vendor.

₹304.98 Crore Allocation

The state government is expected to transfer approximately ₹304.98 crore to around 1.22 lakh beneficiaries during the September 1 programme.

The assistance is intended to reduce the financial burden on meritorious students and help them obtain a personal digital device for their studies.

Scheme Running Since 2022-23

The Pratibhashali Vidyarthi Protsahan Yojana has been operational since the 2022-23 financial year, according to the Madhya Pradesh government's scheme information.

The School Education Department administers the scheme, while eligibility is determined on the basis of prescribed criteria and the relevant examination records.

For the 2026 distribution, students included in the eligible beneficiary list will receive the ₹25,000 assistance through the scheduled transfer on September 1.
