The accused has been identified as Ramesh Suthar (25), a resident of Udaipur district in Rajasthan. Police said he was arrested from Rajasthan and brought into the investigation after tracking the movement of money linked to an online fraud case.According to police, the accused allegedly used bank accounts belonging to other individuals to receive money collected through online cheating. The amount was later withdrawn and used by him, investigators said.

Police traced accused through money trail

Investigators began examining the financial trail after receiving information about suspicious transactions connected to the online fraud case.Police said the money obtained through cyber fraud was not directly transferred into the accused’s own account. Instead, accounts of other people were allegedly used as an intermediate channel to withdraw and utilise the funds. The investigation team tracked the transactions and identified the person allegedly handling the withdrawals.

Accused sent to judicial custody

After completing the initial investigation, Bhilai Nagar Police arrested Ramesh Suthar from Rajasthan.Police produced him before the court, following which he was sent to jail.Officials are continuing the investigation to identify other people involved in the network and to find out how many bank accounts were used for routing fraudulent money.

Cyber fraud network under investigation

Police are also examining whether the accused was working alone or was part of a larger cyber fraud network.Investigators are looking into the source of the fraud amount, the account holders whose bank accounts were allegedly used and whether similar transactions took place in other cases.Police have advised citizens to remain cautious about sharing bank details, OTPs and account access information, as cyber criminals often use multiple accounts to hide the movement of fraudulent money.
