East Bengal FC have been drawn in Group B of the AFC Women’s Champions League 2026-27, setting up a challenging Asian campaign for the Indian club. The draw placed the Kolkata-based side alongside Hwacheon KSPO WFC of South Korea, Ho Chi Minh City WFC of Vietnam and 4.25 SC of North Korea.

The group-stage draw was conducted at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Thursday. East Bengal earned their place in the competition after winning the preliminary stage and securing qualification for the main group phase.

A major milestone for Indian football will follow as Kolkata will host Group B matches from November 1 to 7, 2026, marking the first time the AFC Women’s Champions League group stage will be played in India.

East Bengal, the Indian Women’s League champions, will face strong regional opponents in the group. Hwacheon KSPO WFC enter the competition as South Korea’s WK League champions, while Ho Chi Minh City WFC are the Vietnamese Women’s League champions. North Korea’s 4.25 SC are also among Asia’s established women’s football clubs.

The tournament provides another opportunity for East Bengal’s women’s team to test itself against some of Asia’s top clubs. The club had earlier made progress in continental competition by navigating the preliminary stage, continuing the growth of women’s football at the club level in India.

For Indian women’s football, hosting AFC Women’s Champions League matches is a significant development. It will allow domestic fans to watch elite Asian club football while providing greater exposure to Indian players competing against international opposition.
