The launch took place at 2:55 am IST, with the satellite successfully placed into its intended Sub-Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (Sub-GTO).</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">The mission marks a significant milestone for India’s space programme as EOS-05 is the country’s first-ever imaging satellite designed to operate from a geosynchronous orbit. ISRO confirmed the mission’s success and said the GSLV-F17 had accomplished its primary objective.</p>
<h4><strong>GSLV-F17 completes mission</strong></h4>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">The GSLV-F17 is the 19th flight of India’s Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle. The rocket lifted off from the Second Launch Pad at Sriharikota and carried EOS-05 into the planned Sub-GTO.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">According to ISRO, the satellite was injected into the intended orbit during the mission. The successful launch adds another operational capability to India’s growing fleet of Earth observation spacecraft.</p>
<h4><strong>EOS-05 marks major milestone</strong></h4>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">EOS-05 is an advanced Earth observation spacecraft developed to provide imaging capabilities from a geosynchronous orbit.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Unlike conventional Earth observation satellites that operate in lower orbits and periodically pass over a particular region, a geosynchronous imaging satellite can maintain a much more consistent view of a broad area of interest. This makes such spacecraft particularly valuable for applications requiring frequent observations.</p>

<p class="isSelectedEnd">GSLV missions use a cryogenic upper stage and are designed to place payloads into geosynchronous transfer orbits. The latest mission adds to the vehicle’s flight record and demonstrates ISRO’s continuing focus on advanced satellite-launch capabilities.</p>
