Netflix’s popular anthology franchise ‘Lust Stories’ is returning with its third instalment, with ‘Lust Stories 3’ set to premiere on September 18 on the streaming platform.

The third chapter of the anthology series will continue the franchise’s focus on relationships, intimacy, love and human emotions through multiple independent stories.

‘Lust Stories 3’ features four segments directed by acclaimed filmmakers Vikramaditya Motwane, Kiran Rao, Shakun Batra and Vishal Bhardwaj. The film brings together a diverse ensemble cast, including Konkona Sen Sharma, Radhika Apte, Vijay Varma, Aditi Rao Hydari, Ali Fazal, Abhishek Banerjee and Radhika Madan, among others.

The anthology format follows the earlier films in the franchise, where different filmmakers explore varied perspectives on modern relationships and personal choices. The first instalment, released in 2018, received international recognition and was nominated at the International Emmy Awards.

The upcoming release marks another milestone for the franchise, making ‘Lust Stories’ one of Netflix India’s anthology properties to reach a third instalment.

The makers have retained the format of presenting separate stories under one larger theme, allowing each director to bring a distinct storytelling style. With filmmakers such as Motwane, Rao, Batra and Bhardwaj involved, expectations are high around the narrative variety and performances.

Netflix has positioned the film as a continuation of its India-focused original content slate, which includes a mix of films, series and anthology projects aimed at diverse audiences.

‘Lust Stories 3’ will begin streaming on Netflix from September 18, 2026.
