Barcelona began their 2026-27 UEFA Champions League campaign in emphatic fashion, beating Feyenoord 5-1 at Spotify Camp Nou on Wednesday. Raphinha scored twice, while Karim Adeyemi, Lamine Yamal and Gabriel Jesus were also on target.

Barcelona sent an early warning to their Champions League rivals with a dominant 5-1 victory over Feyenoord in their opening league-phase match at Spotify Camp Nou.

Hansi Flick's side controlled the contest for long periods and combined sustained possession with an aggressive attacking approach. Raphinha opened the scoring inside three minutes before Karim Adeyemi doubled the advantage in the first half.

Raphinha Continues Remarkable Start

Raphinha was once again central to Barcelona's attacking threat.

The Brazilian gave Barcelona the perfect start when he collected Yamal's pass, moved into the area and finished after sending two Feyenoord defenders the wrong way.

His second came in the 57th minute after Pedri found him with a well-weighted through ball. Raphinha maintained his composure before finishing to make it 3-0.

The brace continued a remarkable start to the season for the Barcelona captain. He has now scored in each of the club's first five matches of the campaign, according to Barcelona.

Adeyemi Adds a Stunning Second

Barcelona's pressure continued after the opening goal and was rewarded again in the 22nd minute.

Karim Adeyemi received the ball in an advanced position before cutting inside and curling a powerful right-footed effort beyond Feyenoord goalkeeper Tjark Ernst.

It was Adeyemi's first Champions League goal for Barcelona and gave the hosts a comfortable 2-0 lead going into the interval. 

Barcelona finished the first half with control of the game, while Feyenoord struggled to create consistent opportunities.

Yamal Produces Another Moment of Quality

With Barcelona already three goals ahead, Lamine Yamal added another highlight in the 77th minute.

The teenager stepped up for a free-kick near the edge of the Feyenoord penalty area and found the net through the defensive wall, leaving Ernst with little chance.

Yamal was influential beyond his goal, providing the assist for Raphinha's opener and later setting up Gabriel Jesus for Barcelona's fifth goal. 

Gabriel Jesus Opens Barcelona Account

Gabriel Jesus needed only a short time to make an impact after coming off the bench.

The Brazilian striker replaced Dani Olmo in the 83rd minute and scored just two minutes later. Yamal delivered a cross into the area and Jesus got the decisive touch to head the ball into the bottom corner.

Feyenoord Find Late Consolation

Feyenoord eventually found a response through Sem Steijn in the 82nd minute.

Gonçalo Borges supplied the cross from the right and Steijn finished at the far post to make it 4-1.

The Dutch side had also seen an earlier effort ruled out for offside, but Barcelona remained firmly in control and restored their four-goal advantage soon after through Jesus. 

Barcelona Make Strong European Statement

The result gives Barcelona three points from their opening Champions League fixture and places them among the early winners in the new league-phase standings.

The Catalan club dominated possession and created significantly more attacking pressure than Feyenoord. Match data showed Barcelona with 71 percent possession and nine shots on target compared with two from the visitors.

For Flick, the result also extends Barcelona's perfect start across all competitions this season. The club's official match report described the victory as an emphatic beginning to their European campaign.

With Raphinha in prolific form, Yamal continuing to influence matches and Jesus already off the mark, Barcelona have made their intentions clear: they intend to be serious contenders in this season's Champions League.
