Flood conditions have intensified across parts of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, affecting millions of people and disrupting normal life. Bihar Floods Affect Over 40 Lakh People

Floodwaters have spread across 14 districts of Bihar, including Patna, Munger and Bhagalpur.

More than 40 lakh people are estimated to have been affected by the flooding. The rising water levels have disrupted transportation, daily activities and access to essential services in several areas.

The closure of more than 5,000 schools has added to the disruption, with authorities keeping educational institutions shut in areas where floodwater has entered school premises or surrounding localities.

Ganga, Kosi and Gandak Remain Swollen

The Ganga, Kosi and Gandak rivers remain a major concern as water levels continue to remain high.

More than 500 cremation grounds located along riverbanks have reportedly been submerged. This has made it difficult for families to conduct last rites in the affected areas.

Five Deaths Reported in Bhagalpur

Bhagalpur has reported five deaths linked to drowning in floodwater.

The incident has heightened concerns over safety in submerged areas, particularly where residents are exposed to deep or fast-moving water.

People living in flood-prone areas have been advised to exercise caution and avoid entering flooded stretches unnecessarily.

UP Floods Spread Across 26 Districts

Uttar Pradesh is also witnessing a serious flood situation following continued rainfall and rising river levels.

Flooding has affected 26 districts, with around four lakh people reportedly impacted. Several villages and residential areas are facing waterlogging and inundation as rivers remain swollen.

The situation has particularly affected settlements located close to major river systems.

Temple Submerged, Houses Swept Away

Floodwaters have caused visible damage in several parts of Uttar Pradesh.

In Bareilly, an ancient temple was reportedly submerged in the Ramganga river. In Barabanki, around 12 houses were inundated by the rising waters of the Saryu.

The developments have raised concerns about further damage if river levels rise again.

Rain Eases in Madhya Pradesh

Rain activity has currently eased across Madhya Pradesh.

According to the weather outlook cited in the report, the state is not expected to receive heavy rainfall over the next three days. The temporary break in rainfall is likely to provide some relief to areas that have experienced repeated spells of monsoon activity.

However, local weather conditions can change rapidly during the monsoon season.

Rajasthan May See Rain From September 11

Rajasthan is also experiencing a temporary pause in rainfall, although another spell is expected to begin from September 11.

On Wednesday, temperatures crossed 35°C in 10 cities across the state, indicating a warmer phase amid the break in rainfall.

The contrasting weather conditions across the three states highlight the uneven distribution of monsoon activity. While Bihar and Uttar Pradesh continue to deal with flood-related challenges, parts of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan are currently experiencing relatively drier conditions.
