US President Donald Trump has suggested renaming the strategically important Strait of Hormuz as the “Trump Strait”, making the provocative remark while addressing supporters at a Republican midterm convention in Dallas.

“I’ll have an announcement, we’ll call it the Trump Strait, and I’m sure the Iranian leadership will be thrilled with that,” Trump said during his speech, according to reports.
