According to railway officials, the special tourist train is designed to offer a seamless pilgrimage experience for devotees from the region. Besides Indore, passengers will be able to board the train from Ujjain, Shujalpur, Sehore, Rani Kamalapati, Itarsi, Narsinghpur, Jabalpur, Katni and Anuppur stations. The route has been planned to maximise accessibility for pilgrims across central Madhya Pradesh.

The tour package spans 10 nights and 11 days and includes comprehensive arrangements for travel, accommodation and local sightseeing. IRCTC officials said passengers will travel in modern LHB coaches and will be provided on-board and off-board meals throughout the journey. Local transfers at each destination will be arranged through air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned buses, depending on the package category.

Accommodation will be provided in selected hotels, with additional services such as tour escorts, travel insurance, security arrangements and housekeeping included in the cost. The initiative aims to make long-distance religious travel convenient, organised and affordable, particularly for elderly pilgrims.

The fare has been structured across three categories. The sleeper class package is priced at ₹19,900 per person. The standard AC category costs ₹32,450 per person, while the comfort AC category has been fixed at ₹42,750 per person. Bookings can be made through the official IRCTC website as well as authorised travel agents.

Meanwhile, the announcement comes amid a surge in tourist activity across Indore during recent holidays. During the consecutive holidays on January 25 and 26, as many as 3,654 tourists visited the Ralamandal Wildlife Sanctuary, generating revenue of ₹1.55 lakh for the forest department. Officials said total earnings from Ralamandal during January holidays stood at ₹4.87 lakh.

On Republic Day, the Indore Zoo recorded a footfall of around 15,000 visitors after being opened specially for the occasion. Additional staff and police personnel were deployed to manage the crowd. Similar enthusiasm was seen at the Umrikheda Adventure Eco Park, where over 150 families visited during the two-day holiday period.

Tourism officials believe initiatives like the Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train, combined with rising local tourism, reflect a growing interest in structured travel experiences across the state.
