The gathering followed the release of Nair’s 2009 film Amelia, starring Hilary Swank and Richard Gere. The email reportedly names several high-profile attendees, including former US President Bill Clinton, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, and Mira Nair.

The email itself does not suggest any wrongdoing by Nair; it merely lists her as part of the guest list. Maxwell, Epstein’s close associate, was later convicted in 2021 for aiding his sex trafficking operations and is serving a 20-year prison sentence.

Separately, the files also contain unverified claims involving Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates. Emails allegedly indicate Gates sought antibiotics for his then-wife Melinda Gates due to a sexually transmitted infection allegedly contracted during interactions with Russian women, according to the Daily Mail. Gates has publicly denied wrongdoing, stating he regretted his association with Epstein and had no personal or business relationship with him. Reports suggest Gates met Epstein several times between 2011 and 2013.

The release comes amid continuing public scrutiny of Epstein’s network and those linked to him. The Epstein case has its origins in a 2005 complaint by the mother of a 14-year-old girl in Florida alleging sexual abuse. Epstein was convicted in 2008 for soliciting sex from a minor and served 13 months in prison.
