What CET actually is
The Common Eligibility Test (CET), conducted by the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB), is a qualifying examination that determines whether a candidate is eligible to apply for various state government recruitment drives. What jobs it opens up
Clearing the Senior Secondary Level CET makes candidates eligible to apply for posts including Police Constable, Junior Assistant, Clerk Grade-II, Forest Guard, Hostel Superintendent, Jamadar Grade-II and several other subordinate government services. The Graduation Level CET, run separately, feeds into higher-responsibility posts like Patwari, Village Development Officer, Junior Accountant, Tehsil Revenue Accountant and Supervisor roles.

The real benefit: one test, many doors
The core advantage of the CET system is efficiency — rather than preparing for and appearing in separate exams for every government post they're interested in, candidates clear CET once and then use that qualification to apply across multiple departmental recruitment drives as they're announced. What happens after CET
Qualifying doesn't end the process. Each recruiting department conducts its own separate main recruitment exam and/or interview, with specific vacancy numbers, educational qualifications and service rules varying by post and department. CET scores essentially serve as the entry ticket to compete in those department-specific rounds — the real competition and final selection still happens there.

Candidates applying should have their Class 10 marksheet (for date of birth verification), Class 12 marksheet or graduation degree depending on the level they're applying for, a valid government photo ID, a recent passport-size photograph and signature in scanned format, and their Rajasthan domicile and category certificate where applicable — all details must match exactly with what's entered in the application form to avoid complications during later recruitment stages.

Exam recap
The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) conducted the written examination across multiple shifts on June 8, 9 and 10, 2026, statewide. Attendance came in at an estimated 75-77 percent of registered candidates, translating to roughly 20-22 lakh candidates who actually appeared.

When's the result coming
The result is expected during the last week of July 2026, to be released as a category-wise (and in some cases gender-wise) PDF merit list on the official UPPRPB website, alongside the official cut-off marks for the written exam.

Because estimates vary depending on the source and the analysis method used, exact predictions differ — some exam-prep platforms are projecting a General category cut-off in the 234-240 mark range for male candidates, with OBC around 228-232, EWS around 226-230, SC around 220-222 and ST around 214-218. What determines the final cut-off
A handful of factors shape where the cut-off actually lands each year: the total number of vacancies (more vacancies generally means a lower cut-off), the number of applicants (more competition pushes it higher), and overall exam difficulty (a tougher paper typically lowers the cut-off, an easier one raises it). Because the exam was conducted across multiple shifts over three days, UPPRPB will also apply a normalisation formula to adjust for any difficulty variation between different shifts, ensuring scores remain comparable across all candidates regardless of when they sat the exam. Category-wise cut-offs (General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS) and horizontal reservation cut-offs (for women and ex-servicemen) will each be published separately.

What happens after the written result
Clearing the written exam cut-off is only the first hurdle. Candidates who qualify move on to the Physical Standard Test (PST), followed by the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), then document verification and a final medical examination. Only after clearing all these stages does a candidate get included in the final selection list — the written exam cut-off simply determines who's shortlisted to attempt the physical and verification stages, not who's finally selected.

What candidates should do now
Given how tight and competitive government recruitment cut-offs have become, candidates who've cleared the written round comfortably should begin PET/PST preparation immediately rather than waiting for the official cut-off confirmation, since the gap between result declaration and physical test scheduling tends to be short. Everyone else should keep checking the official UPPRPB portal directly for the result and cut-off PDF, rather than relying on unofficial prediction sites for anything beyond a rough sense of where they stand.

According to the notification, the online application process opens on July 15, 2026, and eligible candidates can submit their applications until August 14, 2026 through the respective regional RRB websites. The recruitment will be conducted for vacancies across multiple railway zones.

The Section Controller is a critical operational post in Indian Railways, responsible for monitoring train movement within a designated section, coordinating with station masters, loco pilots and control offices, and ensuring safe, efficient and punctual train operations. The role demands quick decision-making, communication skills and the ability to manage rail traffic under varying operational conditions.

The recruitment notification states that candidates must possess a graduate degree from a recognised university. The prescribed age limit is 20 to 33 years as on July 1, 2026, with age relaxation applicable to reserved categories in accordance with government rules.
