Counting began at 10 a.m. and continued through the morning under supervision to ensure transparency and accuracy. The contest drew strong participation, with 61 candidates competing for 17 different posts, reflecting heightened interest in the association’s administrative body.

Seven candidates contested for the president’s position, making it the most closely watched race. Singh’s margin of victory established a clear mandate, according to officials. Supporters of winning candidates gathered outside the counting venue after the announcement, celebrating the results.

Speaking after the results, newly elected office-bearers pledged to prioritise advocates’ welfare, improve coordination between the bar and bench, and expand professional facilities for members. They emphasised the need for institutional cooperation to strengthen legal practice standards and address administrative concerns raised by practitioners.

Bar association elections are considered significant within the legal community because they determine leadership responsible for representing advocates’ interests, managing professional infrastructure, and liaising with judicial authorities. Observers noted that the high voter turnout indicated strong engagement among members and underscored the importance of the association’s role.

The newly elected panel is expected to assume charge in the coming weeks after completion of formalities.
