India defeated South Africa by 30 runs in the 5th T20I at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad to clinch the five-match series 3-1. Chasing 232, South Africa could only reach 201/8 despite a blazing start from Quinton de Kock and Dewald Brevis.

Put in to bat, India rode on explosive half-centuries from Tilak Varma and Hardik Pandya to post a massive 231/5, the hosts’ batting laying the platform before the bowlers closed out the game.

Hardik Pandya’s 16-ball fifty lights up Ahmedabad

Hardik Pandya produced a stunning 63 off just 25 balls, racing to a 16-ball half-century – the second-fastest by an Indian in T20Is after Yuvraj Singh’s 12-ball fifty. Walking in after skipper Suryakumar Yadav’s early dismissal, the all-rounder immediately shifted gears, launching a flurry of sixes and fours to rattle South Africa’s attack.
