The arrests were made on February 14 at a private college in the Sarona area, where invigilators discovered miniature communication devices hidden inside the candidates’ shoes. According to DD Nagar Police Station officials, the suspects had been sent from Haryana to assist examinees who had requested external help during the test.

During questioning, police learned that accomplices sat about 50 meters from the exam hall at a roadside stall, relaying answers in real time through wireless devices. The equipment, described as ultra-small earpieces and Bluetooth transmitters, had reportedly been purchased from Gaffar Market, a well-known electronics hub. Because of the short distance, the connection remained stable, allowing instant transmission of solutions.

Investigators seized mobile phones and other electronic gadgets from the accused. Analysis of call detail records and messaging chats has provided leads on the alleged kingpin, whose arrest could expose a wider network operating across multiple states.

Officials noted that the suspected mastermind coordinating the operation is only a Class 10 graduate, while several candidates involved hold engineering degrees. Authorities say the case raises serious concerns about exam security in national-level tests and are expanding the probe to track interstate links and possible additional beneficiaries.
