Accompanied by District Panchayat CEO Kumar Bishwaranjan, the Collector visited Government Primary School Kandal, where he personally tasted the midday meal served to students to check its quality. He instructed officials to maintain hygiene and nutritional standards and directed that ongoing school repair work be completed within the stipulated time with proper quality.

Later, he visited Government Primary School Sejbahar, examined students’ notebooks, and asked questions about their lessons. He also interacted with students about what they receive in their midday meals. Teachers and education officials were instructed to further improve academic quality and the learning environment.

Review of Fisheries and Livestock Facilities

The Collector inspected a fish farming center in Sejbahar, where officials explained that fish production is carried out through five nurseries and four ponds. Fish seeds prepared in nurseries are released into ponds, resulting in a monthly production of about 17 tons of fish. He emphasized water conservation and directed increased plantation around ponds.

He also visited an artificial insemination sub-center, where officials reported that 1,047 cows and buffaloes have been inseminated so far in the current financial year, leading to the birth of about 450 improved-breed calves. He reviewed vaccination arrangements and instructed officials to continue regular drives to prevent hoof-and-mouth disease.

The Collector stated that schemes related to animal husbandry and fisheries form a strong foundation for rural livelihoods. He stressed the need for continuous monitoring and public outreach so more people can benefit from these programs across Chhattisgarh.
