The first day’s session on February 19 was chaired by Brigadier Vivek Sharma (Retd.), Director of the Board. Officers from the districts of
Durg, Bilaspur, Rajnandgaon, Raigarh, Jashpur, Ambikapur, Baikunthpur, Jagdalpur, Kanker, and Raipur participated and shared details of schemes and activities being implemented in their respective districts.

Focus of the Conclave

The main objective of the conference is to discuss district-level challenges related to ex-servicemen, implementation of welfare schemes, and administrative issues. Officials noted that different districts face practical difficulties in matters such as pensions, healthcare, rehabilitation, and dependent benefits. Sharing these experiences helps improve coordination and develop effective solutions.

It was also decided that communication and information sharing between districts will be strengthened so benefits reach ex-servicemen on time. Board officials emphasized that delivering welfare schemes to the last beneficiary is a top priority.

Final-Day Discussions

On the second and concluding day, detailed discussions are scheduled with various organizations and departments connected to ex-servicemen, including
COSA, National Cadet Corps, Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme, Canteen Stores Department, station headquarters, and district administration officials. Key topics include long-pending cases, healthcare access, canteen services, and other welfare matters, with the aim of finding concrete solutions.

This first-of-its-kind conclave in Chhattisgarh is being seen as an important initiative for the ex-servicemen community. Officials believe the platform will help identify issues and implement coordinated, practical measures, directly benefiting veterans and their families across the state.
