Chief Minister to offer chunari to River Shipra during Ganga Dussehra event as BJP finalises arrangements for annual religious yatra

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will participate in the annual Shipra Teerth Parikrama in Ujjain on May 26 during the Ganga Dussehra celebrations. The religious procession, organised every year along the banks of the sacred Shipra River, is considered one of the major spiritual events in the region and attracts large participation from devotees, saints and social organisations.

The yatra will conclude with a traditional chunari offering ceremony at Ram Ghat, where the Chief Minister is scheduled to attend the final programme and participate in rituals dedicated to Maa Shipra. Preparations for the two-day religious event are currently underway across the city. The Bharatiya Janata Party’s city unit has already held important meetings with local mandals and organisational teams to finalise arrangements related to crowd management, security, volunteer deployment and pilgrim services.

Yatra To Begin From Ram Ghat

According to organisers, the Shipra Teerth Parikrama will begin on the morning of May 25 at 9 am from Ram Ghat in Ujjain. The event will start with ceremonial worship of Maa Shipra and puja of the religious flag before the procession begins its route across various ghats and important areas of the city. Devotees carrying religious flags, saints from different akharas and BJP workers are expected to participate in large numbers. Organisers said the atmosphere during the procession will include devotional chants, bhajan programmes and religious ceremonies along the route. The annual parikrama has gradually emerged as one of the important spiritual gatherings in Ujjain, especially during the period leading up to Ganga Dussehra.

Chief Minister To Attend Final Ceremony

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav is expected to attend the concluding event on May 26, coinciding with the Ganga Dussehra festival. During the closing ceremony at Ram Ghat, devotees and organisers will offer a ceremonial chunari to Maa Shipra as part of traditional rituals associated with river worship. Party leaders said the Chief Minister has remained closely associated with initiatives linked to the conservation and cultural significance of the Shipra River for many years. Officials connected with the programme said the final event is likely to witness participation from a large number of saints, social workers, religious leaders and residents from nearby districts as well.

BJP Units Finalise Preparations

District media in-charge Dinesh Jatwa said BJP city units recently conducted meetings with mandal-level office bearers regarding preparations for the annual yatra. During the meetings, responsibilities were distributed among party workers and volunteers to ensure smooth management of the event. Teams have been assigned duties related to crowd coordination, traffic management, pilgrim assistance, water supply and medical support.

Organisers stated that volunteers will remain stationed across major points of the procession route to guide devotees and manage movement during the event. Separate arrangements are also being planned for elderly devotees and women participating in the parikrama.

Event Linked To Shipra Conservation

According to organisers, the Shipra Teerth Parikrama has been organised for several years under the guidance and support of Dr. Mohan Yadav. Party representatives said the initiative was originally started nearly 23 years ago with the aim of spreading awareness about the protection and conservation of the Shipra River. Over the years, the event has expanded into a large religious and cultural programme associated with faith, environmental awareness and river conservation. The Shipra River holds deep religious significance in Hindu traditions and is closely connected with Ujjain’s spiritual identity. Thousands of pilgrims visit the riverbanks every year during festivals and religious gatherings.

Route Through Key Locations

Organisers said the religious procession will pass through several important ghats and areas during the parikrama. The yatra route includes Narsingh Ghat, Lalpul and Triveni before moving through major city roads and returning to Ram Ghat on May 26 for the concluding ceremony.

Authorities are also coordinating with police and municipal officials to manage security arrangements and maintain smooth traffic flow during the event. Barricading, parking management and emergency response systems are expected to be deployed at sensitive locations due to the anticipated crowd. Officials said drinking water arrangements, sanitation facilities and medical assistance centres will also be made available for devotees throughout the procession route.

Religious Programmes Planned

A large-scale Ganga Dussehra celebration has also been planned at Ram Ghat on the concluding day of the yatra. Religious rituals, devotional programmes and cultural activities dedicated to Maa Shipra will be organised during the evening hours. Saints and priests are expected to perform special prayers and aarti ceremonies on the riverbank. Organisers said efforts are being made to make this year’s Shipra Teerth Parikrama more organised and spiritually significant while ensuring proper facilities for visiting devotees. The annual event continues to remain an important part of Ujjain’s religious calendar and regularly draws attention in spiritual tourism and cultural coverage across Madhya Pradesh.

Bhopal: CM Mohan Yadav opens training session for corporation heads

CM Mohan Yadav briefs newly appointed corporation and board chairpersons in Bhopal on administrative boundaries and financial management.

In a significant move aimed at streamlining governance and curbing recent controversies, Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav on Monday inaugurated a specialized orientation program for the newly appointed non-official chairpersons and vice-chairpersons of various state corporations, boards, and commissions.

The training session, which commenced at 9:00 AM at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis (AIGGPA) in Bhopal, saw the participation of 63 newly appointed leaders who hold minister-equivalent status. The five-hour intensive program concluded around 2:00 PM, focusing heavily on administrative protocols and the limits of executive power.

Focus on administrative boundaries

The core objective of the session was to define the operational boundaries between the newly appointed political executives, departmental ministers, and senior bureaucrats. Senior officials from the General Administration Department (GAD) and the Finance Department led the initial presentations.

According to sources familiar with the matter, the top leadership wanted to address potential friction points early on. "There have been historical instances of turf wars between corporation heads and departmental secretaries over financial approvals and routine decision-making," an official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, stated. The session explicitly outlined the legal and administrative framework under which these boards operate to prevent future conflicts.

Curbing VIP culture display

The training comes on the heels of a sharp reprimand from the BJP central leadership in New Delhi regarding ostentatious displays of power. Recent joining ceremonies by several newly appointed board chiefs involved massive vehicular rallies, leading to significant public inconvenience and traffic gridlock across various districts.

BJP leadership signals tough stance

The political fallout of these rallies has already resulted in strict disciplinary action within the state unit. The party recently removed Sajjan Singh Thakur from his post as Bhind Kisan Morcha district president. More prominently, Soubhagya Singh Thakur, the newly appointed head of the Textbook Corporation, was served a formal notice, and his executive powers were temporarily frozen following a massive highway cavalcade near Dewas.

Local authorities confirmed that the morning sessions at AIGGPA included specific briefs on maintaining public decorum and adhering to austerity measures, especially in light of central directives concerning the judicial use of resources.

Senior bureaucracy monitors sessions

The scale of the orientation was reflected in the presence of top-tier bureaucracy. On the directives of the GAD, Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, and Secretaries representing 18 different state departments remained present throughout the venue.

The officers delivered detailed presentations covering:

Fiscal management rules and budgetary allocations

The process of policy formulation and implementation

Statutory responsibilities and limitations of autonomous boards

Procedures for navigating government files and official sanctions

Future roadmap for boards

As the briefing wrapped up in the afternoon, the focus shifted toward accountability and deliverable targets for each corporation. With the training session for corporation heads concluded, the state administration expects a smoother, less disruptive transition of these political appointees into their respective roles.

The government plans to monitor the initial performance and coordination of these boards over the next quarter to ensure that the friction between political appointees and bureaucratic machinery is kept to a minimum.

The meetings are being organised at the Samatva Office located at the Chief Minister’s residence ahead of the Mohan government completing two-and-a-half years in office on June 13 next month. Ministers will present detailed reports on achievements since the formation of the government in December 2023 and outline targets for the remaining tenure.

Ministers Face Review

According to party and government sources, the discussions will cover administrative performance, political coordination and implementation of government schemes. Each minister is expected to provide updates on departmental targets, pending commitments and district-level governance issues. The leadership will also seek feedback regarding challenges being faced by departments and ministers. Sources indicated that the exercise is aimed at strengthening coordination between the government and the BJP organisation ahead of future political and electoral activities.

Focus On Committees

One of the key discussion points will be the formation of non-official committees in districts assigned to ministers. The leadership is expected to seek reports regarding district coordination committees, monitoring panels, Janbhagidari committees and Disha committees. Ministers will have to explain how many committees have been formed and how effectively they are functioning. The review will also assess pending appointments and coordination mechanisms at the district level.

Attention On Lost Seats

Political performance in constituencies is expected to remain a major focus during the meetings. Ministers will reportedly provide updates on their assembly constituencies, home districts and districts under their charge. Special emphasis will be placed on seats where the BJP faced defeat in previous elections. Party leaders are expected to discuss booth-level weaknesses, opposition activities, local development concerns and future electoral strategies for these constituencies.

Departmental Feedback Sought

The review exercise will not be limited to performance assessment alone. Ministers have also been asked to openly discuss challenges within their departments. Sources said some ministers may raise concerns related to bureaucratic functioning and administrative hurdles affecting policy implementation. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Ajay Jamwal are likely to provide guidance and suggestions on improving coordination between ministers and officials.

Local Polls In Focus

Preparations for upcoming municipal body and gram panchayat elections will also form an important part of the discussions. Ministers are expected to brief the leadership regarding politically strong and weak areas, possible candidates, booth management preparations and local election strategies. The BJP organisation is reportedly preparing to strengthen its grassroots network before the next round of civic and rural elections in the state.

Review Of Promises

Each minister will also present the status of commitments linked to departmental targets and government resolutions assigned by the Chief Minister’s Office. The leadership will review how many promises have been fulfilled, which projects remain under progress and which commitments are still pending. The exercise is being seen as an effort to accelerate implementation of flagship programmes and administrative priorities during the second half of the government’s tenure.

Coordination With Boards

Discussions will also include coordination between ministers and chairpersons of corporations, boards and state bodies functioning under their departments. The leadership is expected to seek details regarding orientation and training plans for newly appointed chairpersons, vice-chairpersons and members of these organisations. The issue has gained importance following recent appointments in several state-run bodies.

Work Division With Ministers

Cabinet ministers accompanied by ministers of state will also be asked to explain the division of responsibilities within departments. Sources said discussions will focus on which administrative functions are being directly handled by cabinet ministers and which responsibilities have been delegated to ministers of state. Currently, ministers of state have limited administrative authority, mainly linked to transfer matters concerning Class III and Class IV employees.

Governance And Outreach

Ministers will further provide information regarding district visits, review meetings and participation in major welfare schemes such as Ladli Behna Yojana, Mukhyamantri Kisan Kalyan and housing programmes. The government leadership is also expected to review ministers’ engagement with BJP district units, legislators and local office-bearers.

Ujjain Officials Shift to Bus Travel for Simhastha Inspections

The impact of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s appeal for fuel conservation is now visible in Ujjain administration’s functioning. From Wednesday, senior administrative officials in Ujjain started travelling together in a single traveller bus instead of using multiple government vehicles for inspection of Simhastha-related works. Officials said the move was aimed at reducing unnecessary fuel consumption, lowering government expenditure, and minimising traffic congestion during official inspections.

Officials Travel Together

On Wednesday morning, nearly 15 senior officers travelled together in an Urbania traveller vehicle to inspect the 29-kilometre-long ghat development area being prepared for the upcoming Simhastha fair in Ujjain. The inspection team included Divisional Commissioner and Simhastha Mela Officer Ashish Singh, Collector Roshan Kumar Singh, Municipal Commissioner Abhilash Mishra, UDA CEO Sandeep Soni, Tehsildar Alok Chore, and officers from the Water Resources Department, traffic police, and other departments. Officials jointly reviewed construction activities and infrastructure arrangements being developed for pilgrims expected during the religious gathering.

Daily Inspection Continues

Administrative officials have been conducting regular inspections of Simhastha preparations for the last one week.Earlier, officers from different departments used to reach the inspection site in nearly 15 separate vehicles every day. These included SUVs and official cars belonging to departments such as PWD, Revenue, Municipal Corporation, Water Resources, and Police.Officials generally travelled nearly 16 kilometres daily during inspections apart from additional travel from their official residences to the ghat area. According to administrative estimates, most vehicles used for inspections were high-fuel-consumption SUVs with air conditioners running continuously during field visits.

Major Reduction in Fuel Use

Officials explained that fuel consumption and expenditure have reduced significantly after the shift to a common traveller bus. Earlier, each vehicle reportedly consumed nearly four litres of fuel during inspection rounds. Based on the number of vehicles involved, daily expenditure on petrol and diesel was estimated at around Rs 6,750.

However, on the first day of the new arrangement, the traveller bus reportedly covered nearly 12 kilometres while consuming only around 2.5 litres of diesel. Officials said the fuel expense for the bus trip remained below Rs 250, though the vehicle itself has been hired at a daily rental cost of around Rs 4,100. The administration believes the move will still result in overall savings by reducing multiple vehicle usage and operational expenses.

Traffic Pressure Also Reduced

Collector Roshan Kumar Singh said the earlier practice of multiple government vehicles moving together created unnecessary traffic pressure in the city. He stated that a convoy of several official vehicles often caused inconvenience to regular commuters and increased congestion near inspection routes. Now, with all officials travelling in one vehicle, both fuel use and traffic-related issues are expected to reduce considerably. Officials described the initiative as a practical administrative reform that could be adopted in other government activities as well.

Inspection of Simhastha Works

The inspections are focused on preparations for Simhastha, one of the largest religious gatherings in the country, where crores of devotees are expected to arrive in Ujjain. Authorities are currently reviewing development of ghats, approach roads, public facilities, traffic arrangements, and infrastructure projects linked to the event. Officials begin inspections early in the morning and also conduct foot surveys covering nearly six kilometres daily to examine on-ground progress. During the visits, officers issue instructions to contractors and department teams regarding quality, timelines, and public convenience. Construction and beautification works are currently underway at several ghats along the Shipra river.

Administration Stresses Teamwork

Simhastha Mela Officer Ashish Singh said the new travel arrangement was introduced in line with the fuel-saving message given by the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister. He stated that earlier, officers from different departments travelled separately, leading to avoidable fuel consumption and higher government expenditure. Travelling together in one vehicle, he said, would not only save fuel but also strengthen coordination and teamwork among officials. Administrative officers believe discussions during shared travel will also improve communication and faster decision-making during field inspections.

The initiative is being viewed as a symbolic but significant step towards promoting fuel conservation and environmentally responsible governance. Experts say government departments adopting shared transportation methods can reduce fuel dependency and help lower emissions in urban areas. The move has also generated discussion among citizens regarding efficient use of public resources and reduction in VIP-style vehicle movement. The administration’s decision comes amid wider national conversations around energy conservation, sustainable transport, and responsible governance practices. Officials indicated that similar measures may be considered for other government inspection activities in future if the model proves effective.

Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav performed the bhumi pujan for the Rs 110 crore Rishi Galav University and will attend a state-level dairy farmer convention.

In a significant push for education and animal husbandry in the Gwalior-Chambal region, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Monday laid the foundation stone for the Rishi Galav University in Bela village. The university, a project of the Madhya Bharat Shiksha Samiti, is set to be developed across 55 bighas of land with an estimated investment of Rs 110 crore.

Foundation laid at Bela

The Chief Minister arrived at the site located on the Shitla Mata road via Shivpuri Link Road on Monday morning. Accompanied by cabinet colleague Tulsiram Silawat and several senior BJP and RSS leaders, Dr. Yadav performed the 'Bhumi Pujan' rituals. The residential university is being positioned as a future hub for academic excellence in Northern Madhya Pradesh.

Prominent figures including Jaybhan Singh Pawaiya, MP Bharat Singh Kushwah, and former MP Vivek Narayan Shejwalkar were present during the ceremony, signaling the project's importance to the state's educational roadmap.

Focus on dairy farmers

Following the university event, the Chief Minister’s itinerary shifts toward the Mela Ground for the State-Level Milk Producer and Cattle Rearer Convention. This summit is expected to highlight the government's initiatives in the dairy sector. Dr. Yadav is scheduled to inspect an exhibition themed around 'Vrindavan Gram,' which showcases traditional and modern dairy farming techniques.

The Animal Husbandry and Dairy Minister, Lakhan Singh Patel, will join the CM to distribute benefits under various government schemes to local farmers. Sources indicate that this convention aims to strengthen the cooperative milk production network in the Gwalior division.

Health infrastructure review

Later in the afternoon, the Chief Minister is slated to inspect the ongoing construction at the Arogyadham Super Specialty Hospital in the Gola Ka Mandir area. The visit, scheduled for approximately 3:40 PM, underscores the state's focus on completing high-priority healthcare projects. Local authorities have been briefed to provide a progress report on the facility, which is expected to reduce the dependency of local residents on private hospitals in Delhi or Agra.

Tight schedule in Gwalior

The CM’s visit is packed with back-to-back engagements. After the dairy convention, he will attend a local program at Empire Resort on Shivpuri Link Road around 3:00 PM. The administrative machinery in Gwalior has been on high alert since morning to ensure smooth movement between the various venues spread across the city.

Departure for Bhopal

As per the official minute-to-minute schedule, Dr. Yadav will conclude his Gwalior tour by late afternoon. After reviewing the super-specialty hospital, he will head directly to the Gwalior airport. He is expected to depart for the state capital, Bhopal, via a special flight at approximately 4:15 PM.

MP Wheat Procurement Expanded, CM Opens Sales to All Farmers

MP wheat procurement target has been raised to 100 lakh metric tonnes, with six-day buying and slot booking extended till May 9 for farmers.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Friday announced a major expansion in the state’s wheat procurement programme, allowing all eligible farmers to sell their produce amid record output this season. Addressing farmers in the state, the Chief Minister said the government had increased the wheat procurement target from 78 lakh metric tonnes to 100 lakh metric tonnes to ensure wider market access.

The announcement marks a significant shift in Madhya Pradesh wheat procurement policy, with the state seeking to absorb higher arrivals and reduce distress sales in the open market.

Six-Day Purchase Plan

Under the revised arrangement, wheat procurement will now take place six days a week across the state. Procurement centres, which earlier remained shut on Saturdays, will now operate on that day as well.

Officials said the move is aimed at easing pressure on procurement centres and reducing waiting time for farmers during the peak arrival period. According to officials, the extended schedule is expected to improve daily lifting and speed up the purchase process.

Slot Booking Extended

In another key relief measure, the state government extended the deadline for wheat procurement slot booking from April 30 to May 9. The booking window has also been opened for all farmers across Madhya Pradesh, removing restrictions that had limited access in some cases.

The Chief Minister said the extension would help ensure that no farmer is left out of the procurement cycle. As per reports, the decision was taken after feedback from farmers and local officials over delays in registration and scheduling.

Farmers at Centre

Calling farmers the foundation of the state’s development, Yadav said the government had dedicated this year as “Kisan Kalyan Varsh” and would prioritise farm-sector reforms. He said the revised wheat procurement policy was designed to support small, medium and large farmers alike.

At present, wheat sales in government procurement are linked to land records and fixed productivity norms. This means farmers can sell only the quantity estimated on the basis of acreage and notified yield. The latest changes are expected to widen access, particularly for those reporting higher production this year.

Broader Farm Measures

The Chief Minister also announced a series of agriculture-focused measures beyond Madhya Pradesh wheat procurement. He said farmers would receive up to four times compensation under land acquisition provisions and added that the state was pushing irrigation expansion, crop diversification and modern farm technologies.

On pulses, he said urad would be procured at minimum support price and farmers would receive a bonus of Rs 600 per quintal. He also said agricultural pump connections were being provided for Rs 5 and solar pumps under the Krishak Mitra Yojana were being offered with 90 per cent subsidy.

According to officials, the state has also stocked 5.90 lakh metric tonnes of urea this year, higher than last year, to ensure adequate fertiliser supply during the farm season.

Congress Hits Back

The Opposition Congress criticised the Chief Minister’s address, calling it a bundle of announcements without adequate execution on the ground. State Congress chief Jitu Patwari questioned the pace of procurement, slot booking delays and electricity supply to farmers.

He alleged that wheat procurement remained slow and claimed many farmers were still being forced to sell in the open market at lower rates. Patwari also raised concerns over transparency in farm schemes and sought clarity on support for soybean, paddy and moong growers.

What Lies Ahead

The state government will now face the challenge of implementing the expanded Madhya Pradesh wheat procurement plan without logistical disruptions. With arrivals expected to remain high in the coming weeks, procurement efficiency, timely payments and centre-level coordination will remain under close watch.

The event was held in Rewa city under the “Parivarik Sadbhavana Jagriti Abhiyan” organised by the Brahma Kumaris organisation. The yatra commenced with the participation of a large number of devotees, public representatives and local residents.

The Chief Minister inaugurated the campaign by waving the green flag, marking the start of a year-long journey aimed at promoting social harmony and spiritual awareness across the district.

Campaign Objectives Outlined

According to organisers, the Rewa Jyotirlinga Rath Yatra has been designed as a mass awareness drive focusing on family values, social unity and moral upliftment. The initiative seeks to address growing concerns around social disconnect and substance abuse through spiritual engagement.

Officials associated with the campaign stated that the yatra would cover multiple villages and towns over the next 12 months, reaching out to diverse communities with a message of peace and collective responsibility.

Focus on Social Reform

A key component of the campaign is its emphasis on de-addiction and behavioural change. Through the Rath Yatra, organisers aim to sensitise people about the harmful effects of substance abuse and encourage healthier lifestyles.

The programme also promotes dialogue within families, urging people to strengthen relationships and resolve conflicts through communication and understanding. Volunteers and members of the Brahma Kumaris will conduct interactive sessions during the journey.

Large Public Participation

The launch event witnessed strong public turnout, with residents gathering in large numbers to witness the ceremonial flag-off. Several local leaders, including district president Virendra Gupta and Zila Panchayat chairperson Neeta Kol, were present at the venue.

Organisers described the response as encouraging, noting that the turnout reflected public interest in community-driven initiatives that address social challenges.

Official Remarks Shared

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav highlighted the importance of value-based campaigns in strengthening society. He noted that the initiative aligns with broader efforts to promote social cohesion and cultural values.

According to officials, the Chief Minister emphasised that such programmes play a crucial role in fostering awareness about family harmony, mutual respect and collective progress. He also acknowledged the contribution of the Brahma Kumaris in driving spiritual and social initiatives across the country.

Background of Initiative

The campaign has been launched as part of the Brahma Kumaris’ foundation anniversary celebrations. The organisation has been actively involved in similar outreach programmes across India, focusing on meditation, value education and social reform.

In recent years, such initiatives have gained traction as communities increasingly look for non-institutional approaches to address social issues. The Rewa Jyotirlinga Rath Yatra builds on this trend, combining religious symbolism with public messaging.

Road Ahead for Yatra

As the Rewa Jyotirlinga Rath Yatra moves forward, organisers plan to expand its reach to remote villages and semi-urban areas. The campaign is expected to include awareness drives, cultural programmes and community interactions at each stop.

Officials indicated that the impact of the initiative will be monitored through participation levels and local engagement. The year-long journey is expected to culminate with a larger public event, summarising its outreach and outcomes.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has announced a special Madhya Pradesh Assembly session and a series of rallies to protest the opposition's role in the defeat of the 131st Constitutional Amendment Bill.

CM Criticises Opposition Conduct

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Sunday launched a scathing attack on the opposition following the defeat of the Women’s Reservation Bill in the Lok Sabha. Speaking at the BJP state headquarters in Bhopal, Yadav described the legislative setback as a "dark day for democracy."

The Chief Minister compared the parliamentary disruption to historical injustices, stating that the manner in which the dignity of women was handled in the temple of democracy was deeply painful. He noted that the Modi government had provided every opportunity for dialogue, yet the bill fell short of the required two-thirds majority.

Statewide Aakrosh Rallies Planned

To take the issue to the public, the BJP has announced a massive 'Nari Shakti Vandan' foot march starting Monday. This movement is part of the Latest News Today regarding the party's strategy to corner the Congress-led opposition across all districts of Madhya Pradesh.

The Chief Minister confirmed that the agitation would be phased, beginning with local demonstrations and moving up to municipal levels. "The government and the party will not sit idle; we are going to the people’s court to expose those who snatched away the rights of our sisters," Yadav told reporters.

Special Assembly Session Proposed

In a significant move for India News Update, the Chief Minister announced that his government plans to convene a one-day special session of the Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha. The session will focus exclusively on the Women’s Reservation issue and aim to pass a formal condemnation motion against the opposition.

"This is not just a political issue but a matter of national priority," Yadav remarked. He emphasized that the state’s legislative body must record its protest against the "anti-women mindset" displayed in Parliament during the voting process for the 850-seat expansion proposal.

BJP Questions Shift in Stance

The Chief Minister highlighted what he termed "political opportunism" by the opposition parties. He pointed out that many who supported the Act in 2023, when elections were looming, have now retracted their support when the time for implementation arrived.

According to officials present at the briefing, the BJP leadership believes the opposition is using the North-South seat disparity as a "baseless excuse" to stall progress. Yadav reiterated that the Home Minister had already clarified that seat increases would be proportionate and fair to all regions.

Organizational Support for Movement

The press conference saw the presence of several senior leaders, including BJP State President Hemant Khandelwal and National Vice President Rekha Verma. Khandelwal alleged that the opposition’s celebration after the bill failed was a direct insult to the "half-population" of the country.

Rekha Verma added that women had been fighting for 33% reservation for 70 years. She claimed that while the Prime Minister and Home Minister made sincere efforts to grant these rights, the opposition’s resistance revealed their "true face" once the 2024 General Elections concluded.

Impact on Local Governance

The protest strategy involves passing condemnation resolutions at every level of local governance, including Nagar Nigams, Municipalities, and Nagar Panchayats. This grassroots approach aims to make the Women’s Reservation Bill a central theme in the English News Portal India landscape.

Political analysts suggest that by taking the fight to the local bodies, the BJP intends to consolidate its woman voter base ahead of upcoming local polls. The party plans to highlight the Congress's past record on issues like Triple Talaq to bolster its narrative of being the sole protector of women's interests.

Future Legislative Outlook

The 131st Constitutional Amendment Bill required 352 votes to pass but secured only 298. Despite the numerical setback in the Lok Sabha, the MP government maintains that the struggle for the Public Interest Story of women's empowerment will continue through public awareness.

As the 'Nari Shakti Vandan' yatra rolls out across the state, the political climate in Madhya Pradesh is expected to remain heated. The Chief Minister’s firm stance indicates that the BJP will use this legislative hurdle as a major plank for its upcoming outreach programs in this Trending News India development.

Elite force showcases anti-drone tech and VIP security drill in a major capacity-building exercise at Jahangirabad parade ground.

National Security Guard (NSG) commandos on Monday neutralised a simulated drone attack aimed at a VIP, demonstrating the country’s readiness against emerging aerial threats. The display was part of a comprehensive capacity-building training exercise held at the Parade Ground in Jahangirabad.

High-Octane Display

The black cat commandos carried out a series of complex manoeuvres before senior officials and Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. The event highlighted the force’s ability to adapt to modern urban warfare challenges. Officials said the drill focused on real-time threat responses.

Drone Threat Neutralised

In a key segment, commandos detected an hostile drone approaching a VIP location. They promptly neutralised the unmanned aircraft using advanced counter-measures. This drill comes amid growing concerns over drone-based attacks on strategic installations, a senior officer stated.

VIP Security Drills

The team then secured a VIP under adverse conditions, simulating a high-risk environment. The drill included a swift evacuation protocol and close protection tactics. Sources indicated the scenario replicated a coordinated terror strike attempt during a public movement.

Rescue And Combat Ops

Commandos also performed a dramatic building intervention drill. Troops rappelled from an Mi-17 helicopter onto a structure, engaging mock terrorists in close quarters. The exercise concluded with a hand-to-hand combat sequence, forcing the hostiles to surrender.

K-9 And Anti-Drone Tech

The K-9 squad marked its presence by detecting IEDs with precision. Personnel displayed underwater diving capabilities and bomb disposal techniques. A dedicated anti-drone technology demonstration remained the focal point, reflecting the NSG’s evolving operational priorities.

Senior Officials Present

Director General of Police Kailash Makwana and the NSG Director General attended the event. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav witnessed the entire drill, observing the force’s swift tactical responses. Officials confirmed that the training curriculum has been updated to include emerging threats.

Future Training Roadmap

The NSG plans to integrate these new tactics into regular drills for all regional hubs. As per reports, more such demonstrations will be held across the country to enhance public awareness. The force remains on standby for deployment in major cities for counter-terror and hostage rescue operations.

Indore Receives Major Boost with 1356 Crore Narmada Water Project and STP Inauguration

Narmada Blessings for Development

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Sunday said Maa Narmada’s blessings have ushered in a new stream of development across Madhya Pradesh. Addressing a programme in Indore, he performed the bhumi-pujan for the fourth phase of the Narmada water project under the Amrut 2.0 scheme.

Key Projects Launched

Dr. Yadav laid the foundation for drinking water infrastructure works worth ₹1356 crore and inaugurated a ₹62.72 crore Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) at the Ramsar site in Sirpur. The projects aim to strengthen Indore’s water supply and sanitation infrastructure significantly.

Sankalp Se Samadhan Benefits Distributed

During the event at Dashahara Maidan, the Chief Minister distributed benefits to beneficiaries under the Sankalp Se Samadhan campaign. Officials said over 1.44 lakh applications have been resolved in Indore district alone under this initiative, which is running successfully across all 55 districts of the state.

Focus on Water Conservation

Dr. Yadav highlighted ongoing water conservation efforts, including the Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan, which began on Gudi Padwa and will continue till Ganga Dashami. The campaign targets rejuvenation of nearly three lakh water bodies such as wells, stepwells, ponds, and canals. He also spoke about the Ken-Betwa and Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal river linking projects that will benefit multiple districts in Madhya Pradesh and neighbouring states.

Indore’s Long-Term Water Security

The fourth phase of the Narmada project is designed to meet Indore’s water needs for the next 25 years. Once completed by 2029, it will supply 900 MLD of water, serving an estimated population of 65 lakh. Current phases already deliver about 450 MLD to over 35 lakh residents.

Dr. Yadav noted that Indore-Ujjain is emerging as a major metropolitan region that could become the country’s second-largest with a population of around 1.5 crore in coming decades.

Ministerial Views on Progress

Urban Development Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya described the day as historic for Indore and praised the long-term vision for water management up to 2040. Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat congratulated citizens on the new scheme, which targets 900 MLD supply, and highlighted the state’s irrigation expansion from 55 lakh to 65 lakh hectares in the coming year.

Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava recalled former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s contribution to the Narmada project and said the fourth phase will support both residential and industrial growth while advancing the ‘Green Indore’ vision.

Future Outlook

The Chief Minister reiterated commitment to cleaning the Shipra River ahead of Simhastha 2028 and conserving every drop of water for agriculture and drinking purposes. He said integrated planning will ensure sustainable development in the Narmada basin.

A development exhibition showcasing government schemes was also inaugurated at the venue. Several dignitaries, including MPs, MLAs, and senior officials, attended the event.

The Narmada fourth phase project in Indore marks another milestone in Madhya Pradesh’s journey towards water security and urban development, reflecting the state government’s focus on long-term infrastructure under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
