According to organisers, the concerts will take place at Mahalaxmi Racecourse and Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, two of the country’s largest event venues. They described the initiative as both an entertainment spectacle and a social campaign designed to spotlight child nutrition issues and mobilise public support.

In a press statement, Shakira said performing in India has always been meaningful for her and that she looks forward to reconnecting with fans in both cities. She added that the concerts aim to deliver a broader message of solidarity for children’s nutrition, aligning music with social responsibility.

The Colombian singer last performed in India in 2007 during her “Oral Fixation” tour, also in Mumbai. Since then, her global profile has expanded with multiple chart-topping hits such as Hips Don't Lie, Whenever, Wherever, and Waka Waka, as well as numerous international awards, including three Grammys and 15 Latin Grammys.

Beyond music, Shakira is active in humanitarian work through her Barefoot Foundation, which promotes education and child welfare. Organisers said this mission complements Feeding India’s ongoing campaigns against food insecurity.

The event also supports the United Nations “Zero Hunger 2030” goal, reflecting a broader effort to connect entertainment platforms with global development initiatives. Industry observers note that large-scale international concerts tied to social causes are becoming more common, as artists increasingly use their influence to support advocacy campaigns.

Ticketing details and additional event information are expected to be released soon. Organisers anticipate strong demand, citing Shakira’s enduring popularity and the long gap since her last India appearance.
