In another blow, a Scorpio packed with wedding guests from Kota to Mungeli flipped near Nagchui village after the driver braked suddenly for a cyclist. Baratis returning from a Seepat wedding in a overloaded pickup (CG 12 AX 9589) met disaster at Karma Busaha bend. Driver lost grip, vehicle rolled, killing Ram Jhul Singh (40) from Umaria Dadar instantly. Twelve others hurt, all admitted nearby.

The group, over 25 strong from Ratanpur’s Umaria Dadar, had attended late-night festivities. Takhatpur police are investigating.

About 20 were injured, including Niiraj, Devendra, and Balsinh Rathia; some with fractured limbs and head injuries. Eight critical cases were referred to Raigad Medical College.

Police have registered a case and are hunting the absconding driver to probe negligence.

Locals rushed to pull out the children. Tragically, 6-year-old Vedanshi Sahu from Limhatola died; her father Chiman Sahu had passed away just six months ago in a tractor accident on July 27, 2025. Thirteen others were injured and rushed to hospital.

Driver error led to the failure to control the reverse slide.
