A social media influencer popularly referred to as the “Viral Girl” has approached the Indore bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court claiming that her original birth certificate was illegally altered to portray her as a minor after her marriage. The petition, filed jointly with her husband on Wednesday, alleges manipulation of government records and seeks restoration of the original birth details along with an independent investigation into the matter. The case has triggered fresh attention due to allegations involving forged records, a POCSO case, social media controversy and claims of communal targeting linked to the marriage.

Petition Filed In High Court

According to the petition submitted before the Indore High Court, the woman claimed that her original birth certificate was removed from the government portal without notice or legal procedure. The petition alleges that a new birth record carrying a different date of birth was uploaded to falsely project her as a minor. The couple argued that the alleged changes were made to bring their marriage under criminal scrutiny. They have demanded restoration of the original birth certificate and an independent inquiry into the alleged tampering of official government records.

Couple Married In Kerala

As per details mentioned in the petition, the woman met her husband during a film shoot in Kerala. Their friendship later developed into a relationship, following which the couple reportedly got married in March 2026. The woman, a resident of Madhya Pradesh’s Khargone district, had earlier gained widespread attention on social media after viral videos and photographs circulated online. According to the petitioners, the marriage was legal and took place with mutual consent.

Controversy After Marriage

The matter became controversial after objections were reportedly raised regarding the woman’s age at the time of marriage.

The National Commission for Scheduled Tribes had questioned the validity of the marriage, alleging that the woman was 16 years old during the wedding and that forged documents were used. Following the allegations, Khargone police registered a case against the husband under provisions of the POCSO Act. However, according to legal representatives of the couple, the Kerala High Court on April 20, 2026, stayed the arrest of the husband in the case.

Allegations Of Social Campaign

The petition further alleged that the woman’s father and some other individuals carried out a defamatory campaign against her husband on social media platforms.

According to the plea, the marriage was deliberately linked with sensitive terms such as “love jihad” to create communal tension and influence public opinion.

The petitioners argued that the matter relates to a personal marital decision but was being presented misleadingly on digital platforms and social media channels.

Lawyer Alleges Record Tampering

Advocate BL Nagar, representing the woman, claimed that the official records were manipulated in an attempt to oppose the marriage. He alleged that the original birth certificate was removed from the government system and replaced with altered details to legally portray the woman as underage.

The lawyer maintained that the woman was an adult at the time of marriage and had married voluntarily in Kerala. He further argued that the POCSO case against the husband was registered on the basis of allegedly fabricated documents and pointed out that the Kerala High Court had already granted interim relief against arrest.

Demand For Independent Probe

The petition has sought directions for restoration of the original birth records and a court-monitored or independent investigation into those allegedly responsible for removing or modifying official documents. Legal sources indicated that the matter could come up for hearing before the Indore bench in the coming days. The case has attracted significant public attention due to its combination of legal, social and digital controversy elements, making it one of the major public interest stories in recent Madhya Pradesh news developments.

FIR Against Film Director

Separately, the woman had registered an FIR on April 29, 2026, in Kerala against film director Sanoj Mishra and three others under provisions related to the POCSO Act. According to the complaint, the alleged incidents took place during the shooting of the film “The Diary of Manipur” when she was reportedly a minor.

The complainant accused the director of misconduct and exploitation under the pretext of offering acting opportunities. A Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader and advocate identified as Anil Vilayil was also named among the accused in the case. The complainant alleged that defamatory content targeting her was circulated on social media.

Director Rejects Allegations

Film director Sanoj Mishra has denied all allegations and described the accusations as part of a planned conspiracy. He claimed he was being targeted for speaking on issues linked to “love jihad” and alleged that the actress had been influenced and taken to Kerala before the marriage. Mishra further alleged that forged documents were used in the marriage and claimed false cases were being filed against him after he raised objections in the matter.

14-year-old student Devika Verma allegedly thrown off Venganga Express after quarrel; body found near Bilaspur railway tracks; three detained including minor accomplice

In a shocking incident that has sent shockwaves across the region, a 14-year-old Class 8 student was allegedly pushed from a moving train by her boyfriend following a heated argument. The body of the minor girl, identified as Devika Verma, was recovered from railway tracks in Bilaspur district's Masturi police station area on March 29.

According to police sources, the girl had left her home in Chichola village under Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai district on the night of March 28 without informing her family. She was reportedly accompanied by her boyfriend Mohan Verma from Dongargarh and two others.

The group boarded the Venganga Express heading towards Korba. During the journey, a dispute broke out between Devika and Mohan. In a fit of rage, Mohan allegedly pushed the girl out of the moving train, leading to her death. The incident occurred in the Masturi area of Bilaspur.

Minor's Disappearance Reported

Devika's family grew worried when she did not return home. On March 29, they lodged a missing person complaint at the Khairagarh police station. Meanwhile, railway track workers spotted an unidentified girl's body near Kisana-Parsada village in Masturi. Police conducted panchnama and preserved the body in the mortuary while circulating her photo and video on social media for identification.

Local residents and nearby police stations were alerted. When news of the body reached Khairagarh, Devika's family members identified her through the images. The body was handed over to the family on March 31 after formal procedures.

Police Detain Three Accused

Acting swiftly, Khairagarh police questioned villagers and gathered leads. They took into custody Mohan Verma, Harish Verma, and one minor accomplice. Initial investigations revealed that all four had travelled from Khairagarh to Dongargarh before boarding the train to Korba.

Additional SP (Rural) Madhulika Singh confirmed that Devika was one of four sisters in the family. Her father Shailendra Verma works as a sweeper in a local high school, while her mother is employed as a cook in an anganwadi centre.

The case has now been transferred to Khairagarh police for further investigation. Officers are questioning the detained persons to establish the exact sequence of events. Police are expected to reveal full details of the case later in the day.

Family Mourns Loss

Devika's family is devastated by the tragedy. The minor was cremated on March 30 amid heavy grief. Relatives described her as a regular student who had gone to Khairagarh for her maternal uncle's wedding before the incident.

Safety Concerns Raised

The incident has once again highlighted concerns over safety of young girls travelling unaccompanied and the risks associated with elopement cases involving minors. Authorities are examining whether any local connections aided the accused, as reports suggest one of the accused had acquaintances at the police station where the initial complaint was filed.

Railway authorities have also been asked to review CCTV footage and passenger details from the Venganga Express to corroborate the sequence.

What Lies Ahead

Khairagarh police have registered a case of murder and abduction. Post-mortem reports are awaited to determine the exact cause of death, though preliminary findings point to injuries sustained from falling off the moving train. Strict action has been promised against all involved, including possible charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act given the minor girl's age.

Senior officials are monitoring the probe to ensure a thorough investigation. The case has sparked discussions on better vigilance in rural areas and the need for stricter monitoring of inter-district train travel by minors.

This tragic episode serves as a grim reminder of the vulnerabilities faced by adolescent girls in small towns across Chhattisgarh and the urgent need for community awareness on such issues.

In a disturbing incident, a Chhatarpur teacher POCSO arrest has unfolded after over six girl students from a government primary school in Dhori village accused him of molestation. The case erupted on Thursday afternoon in Chhatarpur district, Madhya Pradesh, highlighting urgent child safety issues in rural schools amid rising POCSO complaints nationwide.

Students Allege Misconduct, Families Confront Teacher
The girls returned home crying and confided in their families about the teacher's alleged misbehavior during class. Enraged parents rushed to the school, confronting 52-year-old Sanjeev Chaturvedi, posted there since 2019. Tensions escalated, prompting a Dial 112 call. Police swiftly arrived, safely detaining the teacher and taking him to Orchha Road police station.

Villagers alleged the teacher threatened students with beatings or exam failures to silence them. Mathura Prasad Kushwaha, a local resident, said: "When two-three girls spoke up, we all went to the school. They repeated the claims publicly." Deputy Sarpanch Ankit Singh confirmed no violence occurred—villagers only questioned him before alerting police.

Teacher Denies Charges, Cites Mid-Day Meal Dispute
Chaturvedi rejected the allegations, labeling them a conspiracy over a dispute regarding school mid-day meal arrangements. An FIR was filed based on one mother's complaint under POCSO Act sections and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita provisions for offences against children. Police visited the school for initial inquiries, noting both boys and girls study there.

A crowd gathered at the station demanding strict action, but officers calmed them, assuring a thorough probe.

Police Probe Underway: What Happens Next?
Investigation Officer SI Uma Parihar stated student statements are pending formal recording. "We'll visit the village and school sensitively, following child-centric protocols," she said. This early-stage inquiry examines all angles, including prior complaints ignored by families.

The case matters now as Madhya Pradesh reports spiking government primary school molestation incidents, urging vigilance post recent national child safety drives.
