The Union government has constituted a high-level, multi-agency committee to investigate the growing menace of so-called “digital arrest” scams across the country, days before the Supreme Court is scheduled to hear the matter on Tuesday. The move was disclosed in a status report filed by the Centre, which has also sought a month’s time to submit a comprehensive action plan to the court.
