A young woman who was kidnapped and gang-raped during the early days of the May 2023 ethnic violence in Manipur has died after battling physical injuries and psychological trauma for nearly three years, authorities and family members confirmed. The victim, who belonged to the Kuki community, was 18 at the time of the assault and died on January 10 in Singhat, Churachandpur district. She was 20.
