Purnea Member of Parliament Rajesh Ranjan, popularly known as Pappu Yadav, was arrested by Patna Police around midnight on Friday following a court order in a 31-year-old criminal case. The arrest triggered a high-voltage standoff lasting nearly three hours at his Mandiri residence, amid protests by supporters and concerns raised by the MP over his personal safety.
