Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday launched a sharp political attack on the BJP and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), alleging that the ruling dispensation is working to weaken the Constitution and dismantle welfare mechanisms to benefit a small group of industrialists. Addressing party workers and local residents during his visit to Raebareli, Gandhi accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of centralising power and systematically eroding social security schemes meant for the poor and marginalised.
