The central government has issued a stern warning to social media platforms, instructing them to immediately block obscene, vulgar, pornographic content and material involving the sexual exploitation of children. The advisory, issued by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) on Monday, cautioned that failure to comply would result in legal action under the Information Technology Act and other applicable laws.
