Amarnath Yatra 2025:
The wait of devotees for the darshan of Shri Amarnath Dham, one of the most sacred and mysterious pilgrimage sites of Sanatan Dharma, is now going to end. This year the Amarnath Yatra will start from July 3 and end on August 9, 2025 on the day of Shravan Purnima (Rakshabandhan). This journey, which lasts for a total of 38 days, not only passes through difficult mountain routes, but also connects with a deep spiritual experience.
Who gets permission for this journey?
The holy cave of Baba Barfani is located at an altitude of about 13,000 feet above sea level. The route of the journey is extremely inaccessible and the weather is challenging.
According to the government and Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB), persons below 13 years of age and above 70 years of age are not allowed. Women who are more than 6 weeks pregnant will not be able to travel. It is mandatory for all travellers to carry a health certificate (CHC) and travel registration card.
Make these preparations before the journey
Practice walking and climbing stairs daily at least a month in advance. Get a fitness certificate by getting a medical checkup done.
What to carry with you
- Warm jacket, raincoat, socks, gloves.
- Essential medicines, first aid kit.
- Torch, power bank, water bottle and dry food.
- Identity card and travel pass.
- Follow the guidelines issued by the administration.
- Use only registered guides and camps.
- Do not carry heavy luggage, protect documents.
- Stop and rest every 1–2 hours.
