Do not make these mistakes in Tulsi Puja, otherwise you will not get full benefits

Know the common mistakes that can reduce the benefits of Tulsi worship and learn how to perform it correctly for full blessings.

In Hinduism, Tulsi is considered to be equal to Goddess Lakshmi. It is believed that having Tulsi in the house keeps poverty away and the blessings of Lord Vishnu remain on the family. However, people often unknowingly make some mistakes, which can cause sin instead of getting religious benefits.

Unholy acts near Tulsi: Lying, getting angry or abusing near Tulsi is considered a sin. It is believed that this pollutes the atmosphere of the house and takes away the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi.

Offering water to Tulsi in the evening: There is a religious belief that water should be offered to Tulsi only from sunrise to noon. Offering water to Tulsi after sunset is considered inauspicious.

Worshiping Tulsi without bathing: It is mandatory to take a bath and wear clean clothes before going in front of Tulsi and worshiping them. Offering water or worshipping Tulsi without bathing diminishes the virtue.

Wrong use of Tulsi leaves: It is said in religious texts that Tulsi leaves should be offered only in the worship of Lord Vishnu, Krishna and Shaligram. Offering them to Goddess Durga or Ganeshji is prohibited.

Plucking leaves on Sunday and Sankranti: There are rules for plucking Tulsi leaves. It is religiously prohibited to pluck Tulsi leaves on Sunday, Dwadashi Tithi, Sankranti and in the evening.
