Many times you must have seen seven chillies hanging in a lemon outside shops, vehicles or houses. Is this just superstition or is there any astrological basis behind it?
According to astrology and folk beliefs, lemon and chilli are considered to absorb negative energy. It is believed that when a person or place is affected by evil eye (jealousy, negative energy), lemon-chilli attracts that negative energy towards itself and thus that power is not able to enter the house or shop.
This remedy is especially done on Saturday and Tuesday, when the negative energy of planets like Rahu, Saturn or Mars is more active.
Rules for applying it
Take seven green chillies and one yellow lemon.
Thread them in a black thread in a particular order – chillies first and lemon at the bottom.
Hang it outside the shop, house or vehicle on Saturday or Tuesday morning.
After seven days, remove the old trick and apply a new one.
Throw the removed lemon-chilli in some deserted place or crossroads – do not keep it in the house.
