On hearing the name of Navratri, a feeling of faith, power and devotion to Maa Durga awakens. Apart from Chaitra and Sharadiya Navratri, which are celebrated publicly twice a year, there is also a third form, Gupt Navratri, which is less known among the common people but is very important for Tantra practitioners. Gupt Navratri is celebrated twice a year - from Shukla Pratipada to Navami of Ashadh and Magh months.
Gupt Navratri of Ashadh month is starting from 26 June and will end on 4 July. Its specialty is that in this the goddess is not worshiped openly, but is done by secret and tantric methods. Especially the sadhana of 10 Mahavidyas like Kali, Tara, Tripur Bhairavi, Chhinnamasta etc. is done in this period.
Golden period of Sadhana
Sadhaks who move towards Tantra, Mantra and Siddhi consider this as the 'Golden period of Sadhana'. Sadhanas done during this period are considered more effective and it is said that if done in the right way, then a person can awaken supernatural powers, self-confidence and mental energy.
