Religion
The festival of Nag Panchami will be celebrated on 29th July (Today) in Shiva and Prajapati Yoga. On this day Uttara Phalguni Nakshatra will also be present which is very auspicious.
On this day the snake god is worshipped. According to experts, the auspicious time for worshipping the snake god on this day is considered to be from 8.51 to 1.46 minutes.
According to the mythological story, when the number of snakes increased and they started hunting humans cunningly, they met Brahma and pleaded to solve this problem. Then Brahma assured them and cursed the snakes that due to the curse of your mother, you people will be burnt in the fire pit, when the snakes came to know about this, they went to Brahma's refuge, then the snakes were advised to go to the underworld and not to trouble the people without reason. That day was Panchami Tithi and in Vaivasvat Manvantar, due to the curse of the mother of snakes, innumerable snakes were sacrificed in the snake yagya of Janamejaya, after which the snakes were saved by Aastik Muni by obtaining a boon from King Janamejaya, and milk was poured in the yagya kund. That day was also Panchami Tithi, that is why Shravan Shukla Panchami is celebrated as Nag Panchami. On this day, especially in rural areas, lai and milk are kept for Nagdev on the banks of houses, fields, barns, temples, ponds etc. Wrestling etc. is also organized in many gymnasiums on this day.
