The makers of the highly anticipated war drama Border 2 unveiled the film’s second major song, “Jaate Hue Lamhon”, at a star-studded event in Mumbai on Monday evening. The film, directed by Anurag Singh and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, is scheduled for theatrical release on 23 January 2026.
The launch took place at the United Services Club, in a special ceremony conducted in collaboration with Indian Navy officers. Attendees included Suniel Shetty, reprising his association with the original film, along with his son Ahan Shetty, actress Ananya Singh, and the full Border 2 cast and production team, including producer Bhushan Kumar and co-producers Shiv Chanana and Binnoy Gandhi.
“Jaate Hue Lamhon,” a reimagined version of the classic track from the 1997 film Border, has been recreated to resonate with contemporary audiences while retaining its original emotional essence. The music is composed by Mithoon, inspired by the legendary original composition of Anu Malik, with poignant lyrics penned by Javed Akhtar. The song features the timeless voice of Roop Kumar Rathod, accompanied by fresh vocals from Vishal Mishra, capturing both nostalgia and renewed energy.
The event featured live performances of the track by Rathod and Mishra, supported by a live band of Indian Navy officers, adding a unique patriotic ambiance to the evening. Suniel Shetty expressed pride in witnessing the legacy of the original Border continue through the sequel. The song reflects the emotional struggles of soldiers and their families, portraying separation, sacrifice, and resilience, central themes in the film.
The song follows the release of “Ghar Kab Aaoge,” a recreated version of Sandese Aate Hain, which was unveiled at the historic Longewala–Tanot sector in Jaisalmer and received widespread acclaim for its emotional resonance.
Border 2, presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series in association with JP Films, aims to continue the patriotic saga established by the original film. Producers say the film combines action, emotion, and national pride, promising audiences a cinematic experience highlighting courage, duty, and the human cost of warfare.
With the song launch generating significant attention, industry insiders expect “Jaate Hue Lamhon” to further build momentum for the film’s release, engaging fans with its blend of nostalgia and contemporary storytelling.
