‘Dhurandhar’ adds midnight shows in Mumbai, Pune as box office run crosses ₹300 crore

Theatres in Mumbai and Pune have begun scheduling midnight and late-night shows of Dhurandhar after sustained audience demand, underscoring the film’s strong hold at the box office even in its second weekend.

The Ranveer Singh-starrer crossed the ₹300 crore mark within nine days of its release, emerging as one of the fastest films of the year to enter the milestone club. On Saturday, its ninth day in theatres, the action drama recorded its highest single-day collection of ₹53 crore, taking the cumulative domestic total to an estimated ₹303 crore.

Exhibitors in Mumbai added a 12:45 am show, while Pune introduced a 12:20 am screening. Several cinema chains have also scheduled shows well past midnight, with screenings running into the early morning hours, a move typically reserved for films witnessing exceptional footfall. Trade analysts attribute the decision to consistently packed halls across key urban centres.

Released on December 5, Dhurandhar opened to a robust ₹28.6 crore and built momentum over the first weekend. Collections remained steady through the weekdays before leading into a sharp surge in the second weekend. With Sunday expected to post further gains, the film’s overall tally is likely to climb higher in the coming days.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, best known for Uri: The Surgical Strike, the film features Ranveer Singh as an intelligence operative on a covert mission in Pakistan. Sara Arjun plays the female lead, while Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal and R. Madhavan appear in key roles.

With its current performance, Dhurandhar has become the fifth highest-grossing Hindi film of 2025 so far. Industry watchers say the pace of collections places it in contention to climb further up the annual box office rankings if the momentum holds in the coming weeks.
