The announcement video opens with a voiceover by Ajay Devgn, who reprises his role as Vijay Salgaonkar. In the closing moments, his character hints that the story is far from over, confirming that the upcoming film will serve as the final chapter of the franchise.
Drishyam 3 will see the return of the core cast, including Tabu, Shriya Saran and Rajat Kapoor. Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav will also reprise their roles as Vijay Salgaonkar’s daughters. There is, however, no official confirmation yet on whether Akshaye Khanna, who played a key investigative officer in Drishyam 2, will be part of the third film.
The film is currently in production and is being shot across multiple cities. The trailer is expected to be released sometime in 2026, closer to the film’s theatrical debut.
Directed by Abhishek Pathak, Drishyam 3 is written by Pathak along with Aamil Keeyan Khan and Parvez Shaikh. Pathak had earlier helmed Drishyam 2, which expanded the franchise’s reach and critical acclaim.
The Drishyam series is the Hindi adaptation of the Malayalam original. The first film, released in 2015 and directed by the late Nishikant Kamat, followed a middle-class man who uses his intellect to shield his family after a crime. It earned ₹197 crore worldwide. Its 2022 sequel surpassed expectations, collecting ₹345 crore globally.
With a proven box office track record and a devoted audience, Drishyam 3 is expected to close the franchise on a high note.
