‘Rangeela’ Returns to Theatres: Aamir Khan and Urmila Matondkar Set to Recreate the Magic

Bollywood’s 1995 classic Rangeela is set to make a grand comeback on the big screen. The romantic drama starring Aamir Khan, Urmila Matondkar, and Jackie Shroff will be re-released in theatres on November 28, 2025, in a newly remastered 4K HD format, offering audiences a refreshed cinematic experience along with a special surprise.
Directed by Ram Gopal Varma, Rangeela remains one of Bollywood’s most celebrated films, remembered for its vibrant storytelling, memorable performances, and A.R. Rahman’s iconic music. The film marked a defining moment in Hindi cinema, blending style, sound, and emotion in a way that set new benchmarks in the 1990s.
This re-release is part of Ultra Media’s “Ultra Rewind” initiative, aimed at restoring and reintroducing classic films to modern audiences with upgraded technology.
