Aamir Khan played a double role in the film Dhoom 3. Opposite him was Katrina Kaif. Recently, Aamir spoke about the film's storyline.
In a conversation with Mashable India, Aamir Khan said that there was a very important character that should have been in the film, but was removed at the last moment at the makers’ request. This character was Abhishek Bachchan’s (i.e., Jai Dixit's) wife Sweety, which was played by Rimi Sen in the first two parts.
The story was originally supposed to show Jai Dixit and Sweety going through a divorce. It would have depicted Sweety expressing that Jai is so busy with his duty that he doesn’t have time for the family, which leads her to ask for a divorce. However, Jai requests one last chance, and the two decide to go on a honeymoon in an effort to save their relationship.
Aamir said that in the story, just as Jai is about to leave for the honeymoon with his wife, he gets a call from the commissioner, who asks him to urgently go to Chicago for an important case. Jai convinces Sweety to come along and solve the case together. The film would have shown the evolving relationship between Jai and Sweety from that point onward.
According to Aamir Khan, if this part had remained in the film, it could have made Dhoom 3 even more emotional. It would have allowed the audience to better understand Jai Dixit’s struggles and personal challenges.
