The sudden demise of veteran Bollywood actor Asrani has sent shockwaves through the film industry, leaving many of his colleagues and friends in profound grief. Among them is superstar Akshay Kumar, who is reportedly struggling to cope with the loss.

According to renowned director Priyadarshan, a close friend and frequent collaborator of both actors, Akshay Kumar is "in depression" following Asrani's passing. The revelation came during Priyadarshan's recent interview where he mourned the loss of the legendary comedian, whom he hailed as a "complete actor."

Priyadarshan disclosed that Akshay Kumar had called him twice, deeply affected by the news. The two had just wrapped up a 40-45 day shooting schedule for their upcoming films, ‘Haiwaan’ and ‘Bhoot Bangla’, both directed by Priyadarshan. This prolonged and recent time spent together made the loss even more personal and shocking for Akshay.

The director fondly recalled Asrani's nature on set, mentioning how the veteran actor was always full of guidance. "Asrani sir always advised Akshay," Priyadarshan shared, highlighting a mentor-like relationship that extended beyond the camera.

The news comes after Akshay Kumar shared an emotional tribute on social media, expressing his shock. He revealed that they had shared a warm hug on the sets of ‘Haiwaan’ just a week prior, making the loss feel incredibly sudden. Akshay credited Asrani for his incredible comic timing and the lessons he learned from him while working on cult classics like ‘Hera Pheri’, ‘Bhagam Bhag’, ‘Welcome’, and the ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ series.

This personal and professional bond, recently rekindled during their latest projects, explains the depth of Akshay Kumar's current sorrow, marking the end of an era for the actor and for Bollywood.
