Ameesha Patel Summoned by Moradabad Court in Rs2 Lakh Cheque Bounce Case Linked to Event Dispute

Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel has been summoned by a Moradabad court in connection with a Rs2 lakh cheque bounce case. The complaint, filed by the director of a local event company, alleges that the Gadar star failed to appear at a wedding event despite accepting payment in advance.

According to court records, the complainant stated that Patel had agreed to perform at an event in Moradabad but did not show up. When the issue was raised, she reportedly promised to settle the matter for Rs14 lakh and initially paid Rs8 lakh. However, the cheque issued for the remaining Rs2 lakh allegedly bounced, prompting the legal action.

This is not the first time Patel has faced court proceedings in Moradabad. In 2023, she was granted anticipatory bail in a separate fraud case related to a similar allegation. The earlier complaint, filed by event organizer Pawan Kumar Verma of Dream Vision Event Company, claimed that the actress accepted Rs11 lakh in advance to perform four dance numbers at a wedding on November 16, 2017, but never turned up.

Verma’s petition stated that all logistical arrangements, including Patel’s flight, accommodation, and meals, were made, yet she failed to attend the event. Payments were reportedly made through her associates, identified as Ahmed Sharif and Suresh Parmar, under the coordination of PR agent Rajkumar Goswami.

The Moradabad court has now directed Patel to appear for the next hearing in the cheque bounce case. Legal experts note that repeated non-appearance could invite stricter judicial action, including the possibility of a non-bailable warrant.

Neither Ameesha Patel nor her representatives have issued any official statement regarding the latest court summons
