Babil Khan, son of the late actor Irrfan Khan, has returned to social media after a four-month hiatus, sharing a deeply personal post reflecting his struggles with depression and insomnia.
In the post, Babil is seen wearing a red sweater and posing with a flower, while his caption candidly describes the toll of mental health challenges:
“I didn’t intend to eavesdrop, the walls of this glass house are thin. I wore my heart on my sleeve, now my T-shirt is stained with blood. I needed time to heal; my fears gave me deep wounds.
Insomnia and anxiety forced me to make strange confessions. I was screaming for help; I couldn’t suppress my emotions. It took a toll on my health, my soul was tired from the pressure. While I was fighting my depression, you were fighting with your girlfriend. Wait…”
The post has drawn widespread support from fans and industry peers. Actors Vijay Varma, Gulshan Devaiah, and Aparshakti Khurana commented to express their encouragement and solidarity.
Earlier in May, Babil had made headlines when he shared an emotional Instagram story, naming several actors and discussing the pressures of working in Bollywood. Following the episode, he temporarily deactivated his account, prompting a statement from his family and team to clarify the situation.
On the professional front, Babil made his acting debut in 2022 with Netflix’s critically acclaimed film ‘Qala’, earning praise for his performance. He later appeared in the web series ‘The Railway Men’ (2023) and starred alongside Juhi Chawla in the film ‘Friday Night Plan’. Most recently, his film ‘Logout’ was released on OTT platforms, receiving positive audience feedback.
Babil’s post reflects his candid acknowledgment of the emotional and mental challenges faced by young actors in the industry, sparking conversations about mental health awareness in Bollywood.
