Bobby Darling Battles Health Issues After Depression and Domestic Abuse, Says She Pleaded for Work

Actor and transgender icon Bobby Darling, known for her roles in Apna Sapna Money Money and Taal, is reportedly battling serious health issues following years of depression and personal turmoil. A recent video showing her struggling to walk has sparked widespread concern among fans and colleagues.

Bobby dressed in red ethnic wear was seen walking unsteadily but assured those around her that she was recovering. “Problem ho gayi thi, ab theek hai. Thoda sa problem tha, ho jayega,” she told onlookers. The video has since gone viral, with fans extending messages of support on social media.

According to sources close to her, Bobby has been living quietly in Mumbai for the past four years, recovering from a traumatic marriage and battling prolonged depression. In 2017, she filed for divorce from Bhopal-based businessman Ramneek Sharma, accusing him and his family of domestic violence, financial fraud, and abuse.

In a 2025 podcast with Siddharth Kannan, Bobby revealed that she once pleaded with Ektaa Kapoor and Kapil Sharma for work during her lowest phase. “I told Ektaa ma’am I might end up like Sushant Singh Rajput,” she said tearfully. She also claimed Kapil ignored her messages seeking small roles.

Born Pankaj Sharma, Bobby transitioned in 2015 after undergoing gender-affirmation surgery in Bangkok. She legally adopted the name Pakhi Sharma but continues to be known by her screen name.

Her journey in Bollywood began in 1999 with Taal, followed by successful roles in Style, Kyaa Kool Hain Hum, and Apna Sapna Money Money. Once celebrated for her vibrant comic timing, Bobby’s career has since been overshadowed by health and emotional challenges. Fans continue to rally online, urging the industry to offer her new opportunities and dignity in representation.
