Bollywood Veteran Dharmendra Admitted to Breach Candy Hospital, Stable on Ventilator Support

Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra, aged 89, was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital on the night of October 30 after experiencing breathlessness. Reports indicated that the actor was placed on ventilator support, but his team has reassured fans that his condition is stable and under continuous observation.
Sources stated that Dharmendra’s family is present at the hospital, and his daughters have been called from the United States. Doctors monitoring him emphasized that the next 72 hours would be critical, though the actor is reportedly stable with vital signs normal, including a heart rate of 70 and blood pressure of 140/80.
Dharmendra’s hospitalization comes just ten days after a routine health checkup at the same hospital. Earlier this year, he underwent a corneal transplant. Despite these recent health challenges, the actor remains active and is preparing for the release of his upcoming film, Ikkiis, scheduled for December.
Born on December 8, 1935, in Sahnewal, Punjab, Dharmendra began his cinematic journey inspired by Dilip Kumar’s performance in Shaheed. He made his film debut in 1960 with Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere, earning only51 for his role. Over a prolific career spanning more than six decades, Dharmendra has been celebrated for his versatility, stamina, and dedication to his craft.
Known for his fitness and active lifestyle even at an advanced age, Dharmendra has also shared anecdotes about his early struggles and inspirations, including admiration from contemporaries like Dev Anand.
Hospital sources confirmed that Dharmendra was admitted after his condition deteriorated during travel from Ujjain to Mumbai.
