Chaos at Diljit Dosanjh’s Melbourne Concert: Khalistani Protesters Create Scene

Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh’s concert in Melbourne turned chaotic on Friday night after a group of Khalistani supporters disrupted the event with loud protests and slogans.

The incident took place outside AAMI Park, where the artist was performing to a packed crowd.

According to reports, members of the banned outfit Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) appeared outside the venue waving flags and shouting slogans against Dosanjh. The protesters allegedly used loudspeakers to hurl abuses and branded Sikh fans attending the concert as “traitors.”

Several videos of the confrontation have gone viral on social media, showing the chaos outside while Dosanjh continued his performance inside the stadium. Despite the tension, the event inside remained peaceful, with the singer delivering a powerful and energetic performance.

Community Anger Over Disruption

The incident has sparked anger among Melbourne’s Sikh community. Many fans expressed disappointment with local authorities, questioning why stricter preventive measures were not taken despite SFJ’s earlier warning to “shut down” the concert on November 1 — a date the group linked to the Sikh Genocide Remembrance Month.

A flash mob event planned outside the venue had to be canceled due to rising tensions. Community members later urged police to take stronger action against organizations promoting division and hatred.

SFJ’s Allegations Against Diljit

The Sikhs for Justice group has accused Diljit Dosanjh of “betraying Sikh victims” by honoring Bollywood veteran Amitabh Bachchan, who the group alleges was linked to the 1984 riots — a claim widely dismissed by fans and the entertainment fraternity.

Despite the uproar, Dosanjh chose not to respond directly to the controversy, continuing his performance with professionalism and grace. His fans praised him online for maintaining composure and spreading positivity through music, even amid provocation.

Upcoming Projects

On the work front, Diljit Dosanjh continues to shine in both Punjabi and Hindi cinema. His latest Punjabi film, Sardaar Ji 3, received a strong response from audiences, with fans praising his comic timing and energetic screen presence.
In Bollywood, the singer-actor is currently part of two highly anticipated projects — “Border 2” and “Punjab 95.” His growing international popularity has made him one of the most prominent Indian artists performing on global stages.
