Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol will host a special screening of their late father Dharmendra's last film Ikkis on December 29 at PVR Icon in Andheri, paying an emotional tribute ahead of its theatrical release on January 1, 2026.
The war biopic, directed by Sriram Raghavan, chronicles the heroic story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, India's youngest Param Vir Chakra recipient from the 1971 Indo-Pak war. Agastya Nanda stars as Khetarpal, while Dharmendra portrays his father in a poignant role.
Dharmendra, who passed away on November 24, 2025, at age 89, also contributed a heartfelt poem for the film, "Aj bhi ji karda ae, pind apne nu janwa," expressing longing for his village roots.
Director Raghavan shared his regret with ANI: "He watched the first part and was waiting for the second. I wanted him to see the entire film, but that could not happen."
Produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, Ikkis marks Dharmendra's posthumous appearance, adding profound sentiment to its release.
The private screening will include industry figures and media, celebrating the legend's enduring legacy.
