Amid the controversies, Diljit Dosanjh’s statement to BBC Asian Network has emerged, where he gave his first reaction on working with Hania Amir and the film not releasing in India. He said, “When this film was made, the situation was fine. When we shot in February, the situation was fine. Many things are not in our control. The producers decided that obviously this will not release in India, so they are releasing it overseas. They knew there would be losses because one territory is being removed.”
Diljit further said, “When I signed the film, everything was fine. Now the situation is not in our hands. If they want to release it abroad, I am with them.”
On working with Hania Amir, Diljit said, "She is very professional. When we were working, there wasn’t much time. I respect her work a lot. I always respect everyone’s privacy. I am very private myself, so I give others space too, especially girls. Our conversations were always to the point."
