Dunster Business School in Switzerland has awarded Honorary Doctorate (PhD Honoris Causa) status to Bhagirath Bhatt, an Indian sitarist and music composer as recognition of Bhagirath's extraordinary contributions to the fields of Music and Indian Classical Music. Bhagirathkumar Pankajbhai Bhatt has been involved in Indian classical music as a Classical Sitar Player and Composer for the last ten years and has been instrumental in bringing the art form to new audiences around the world. He has performed extensively at international music events, contributed to soundtracks for Bollywood films, has written and produced music for films, television productions and web series and worked with various regional and global genres. He has helped to promote the use of traditional Indian instruments, such as the Sitar, to the music industry and to the contemporary film and music markets of the world through a blending of traditional Indian music with modern day expressions of musical styles.

Bhagirath is a Gold Medalist in BPA (Bachelor of Performing Arts) and also has a degree in MPA (Master of Performing Arts) in the area of Sitarn.
