Sonu Nigam scolds fan during college concert over language demand
Recently, Sonu Nigam performed at a college event where he was singing his iconic Hindi songs. In the middle of the performance, a fan began shouting loudly, repeatedly demanding that he sing in Kannada. Irritated, Sonu paused the performance and firmly reprimanded the fan.
At a time when language-based tensions are already high in the country, Sonu’s sharp and timely response has been appreciated by many. During the concert, he even brought up the recent Pahalgam terrorist attack to emphasize his point.
Addressing the fan, Sonu said:
"I didn’t like that a young guy—who probably isn’t even as old as the number of years I’ve been singing in Kannada—was rudely shouting from the crowd: ‘Kannada, Kannada!’ This is exactly the kind of behavior that leads to incidents like what happened in Pahalgam. What you're doing here—that's the problem."
