Kantara surpasses Varun Dhawan's film on the first day: 'Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari' earned ₹9 crore

Varun Dhawan-starrer film 'Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari' collected ₹9.25 crore at the Indian box office on its first day, while 'Kantara: Chapter 1', released on the same day, earned ₹60 crore.
According to Sacnilk, 'Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari' received a good response from the audience on Thursday. Morning shows had 14.77% occupancy. This figure increased to 38.93% in afternoon shows. In the evening, the highest occupancy of 43.65% was recorded. While night shows had an occupancy of 38.95%.
Although 'Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari' had a better start among Hindi romantic films, in terms of total earnings, this film lagged significantly behind 'Kantara: Chapter 1'.
With the first part setting global benchmarks, the pre-release excitement has soared for 'Kantara Chapter 1'. Within a day, the film sold over 1.7 lakh tickets, raking in Rs 5.7 crore in pre-sales. While the first Kantara collected just Rs 2 crore on its opening day back in 2022.
