Businessman and Sona Comstar Chairman Sanjay Kapoor passed away on Thursday in England. He was 53 years old. In an official statement, Sona Comstar said that he was playing a polo match when he experienced difficulty breathing. He immediately left the field, but shortly after, he suffered a heart attack and passed away on the spot.

Some reports claim that during the match, a bee flew into Sanjay Kapoor's mouth, which caused swelling in his throat and eventually led to a heart attack.

Sanjay Kapur was Karisma Kapoor's ex-husband

Sanjay Kapur was the former husband of actress Karisma Kapoor. The two got married in 2003 and have a daughter, Samaira, and a son, Kiaan. In 2014, they filed for divorce by mutual consent, which was finalized in 2016. In 2017, Sanjay married model Priya Sachdev. The couple has a son named Azarius, and Sanjay also cared for Priya’s daughter Safira from her previous marriage.

Following the news of Sanjay’s death, several Bollywood celebrities visited Karisma’s home to offer their condolences. Kareena Kapoor and her husband Saif Ali Khan were seen arriving at her residence. Malaika Arora and Amrita Arora also visited Karisma late at night.

Sanjay Kapur was an alumnus of The Doon School and a passionate polo player. He was the patron of his own polo team, 'Aureus', and at the time of the incident, he was playing a match against the 'Sujan' team, owned by hotelier Jaisal Singh.
